what did you use in its place?

My boys are in the middle of their EI evaluations. Yesterday was their psych eval and the dr said Jon is not autistic but has several of the components of autism. He said we should see a ped developmental specialist (haven't been able to get an appt yet) and the 1st thing to look at is diet - mostly dairy.

Until I find a specialist I'd love ideas of what you have done to replace dairy and possibly gluten.

    Thanks.

Our ped told us to take Cody off all dairy last week, but I started giving it back to him after not noticing any change. It was rough - so many things contain dairy that you just don't think about. I know I'm not much help, but good luck!

My friends son is allergic to milk and dairy. She does soy milk, and avoids dairy products for him, but it is hard. Another idea is to get a Kosher cookbook. Anything that is Parave or Meat, cannot contain diary.

Thanks Kelly. If you don't mind me asking, why did you have to alter Cody's diet?

Thanks Sharon. I never even thought about Kosher. That's a great idea.

One of my students is on a dairy, gluten and casein free diet. I know the mother buys the majority of his food from an organic/health food store.
