Alright ladies-let's change it up in here! Just what the question asks-if there were two of you-and the other you had baby duty-what would you do with that time?!? As new moms/moms of twins, we forget about our former freedoms and what we did without ever giving it a second thought. So-what would you do?!?

Hmmm...I can't even think. I think I would probably be at the casino! DH and I would work all day, come home, eat dinner and be like, "Alright. Want to go to the casino?" So in the car we would jump! We would go to the casino for a few hours, come home around 12/1am and wake up at 6/7 and go to work! LOL! Ohhhhhhh the memories! I think that's what I would do-casino here I come!

    Next?

Sleeping, eating, shopping, cleaning (how sad!) :headbang:
Can she take a couple weeks worth of baby duties, cause it will take me that long to get all the above done...

Oh, the dream of yesteryear (even though I would NOT give back my babes.) If there were two of me I would sew project after project, knit, be in a bowling league with girlfriends, go to a movie on weeknights, yoga, skiing, read something other than parenting, potty training, sleep books, etc., take an art class, go to concerts...oh, wait, and if I had money on top of that I would get massages weekly. And of course, I would shop. Not too mention keep a clean house. Dang...I am sure I could think of a million more things. Cooking. And incidentally, I love casinos. I used to go a couple times a year for kicks...not any more. Okay, now I am rattling on...but just so excited at the thought. Now, I had the extreme luxury of not working the last 4 months of my pregnancy. Ask me how much I got done...if only I had known. I napped every day and checked the Expecting Forum...tee hee. I loved every second.

I would sletp in as late as possible, go to the gym, go out for brunch with friends and have a Bloody Mary, do some shopping, take a nap, and have a small party at my house with some friends, good food, cocktails, and games.

Oh my.....I might cry knowing that this won't actually happen.

I would sleep in, have a nice long hot shower (without a toddler at my feet) I would go out for lunch with friends, do some shopping for ME, I would go out for a nice dinner and get a nice bottle of wine. I would come home and actually have the energy to get a little frisky!

I honestly went from having had an AMAZING day with my kiddos to realizing how socially depressing I am! lol

    This is fun!

I would NOT be driving a mini-van! :) I would go shopping much more often since I would have a lot more money (kiddos are expensive these days). I would have recorded an album and would hope to be traveling and singing my heart out. I would be having a lot more sex since we'd have more privacy and wouldn't have to worry about a 7 & 5 year old "catching" us (not to mention the energy). :)

My husband and I would go out anytime, anyplace.....whenever the heck we want to!!! Just pick up and go. Yea, that sounds like fun, doesn't it? Although everything sounds fun, there's no comparison to the joy our (all of us on twinstuff) children bring to our lives. Nothing compares! We are blessed and all this work and "hassle" will only last a short time...just a phase. I say this laughing because even though we had a great day today, I know that tomorrow could be totally different and this "phase" will seem like an eternity!! :) hehe

My wants are pretty basic right now - I would take a long hot bath and then I would SLEEP. and sleep. and sleep. and maybe take another hot bath.

Hey there Lisa! So good to 'see' you!! Well-come on over to MA, and I will take those adorable children of yours-and you and the dh can go and sleep and sleep and sleep. And get that hot bath! ;) Berkshires are nice in the winter! :)

You know, it's funny because reading these responses, I'm like, "YA! I want to do that! And that! And that too!" You know-jump in the car and go out to dinner! And not take TWO HOURS to get three kids ready. Or deal with whining. Or runny noses. Or tears. To actually eat HOT food. And not have to cut it up into 1049 pieces. Or to be able to walk around the house and not trip on pacifiers, lost toys, puzzles, and sneakers. To not have to pack a diaper bag filled with wipes, diapers, snacks, toys to keep kids entertained JUST.IN.CASE while we attempt to eat out.

But you know what? And I think we all know what...and I think we all feel the same way-none of us would trade it for the world! I can't imagine my life without them. I often wonder(dh and I) what we did with our time! How boring were we really?!?

So as much as I would loveeeeeeeeeeeee to sleep in and not hear, "Mommmmmmyyyyyyyyy! Dadddddddddddddyyyyyyyy! I have to PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" at 6:30am, I wouldn't think twice, and would do it all over again!

Maybe this time with a nanny.

thanks Meaghan for the welcome back. Now that I am pumping all the time, it's my excuse to get online. So maybe I'll manage to get back on TS more regularly.

Definitely agree with you that I wouldn't trade it for the world!

But yeah, a hot meal would be nice occasionally. Lately my dinner is either eaten cold after everyone is in bed, or eaten standing up in the kitchen stealing bites in between taking care of everybody elses needs. Oh and the tripping on toys! These darn Thomas trains are going to be the death of me!

I was thinking the same thing...I am getting so excited thinking about what I would do!

I would get a book and go to a coffee shop, get a coffee (that I could drink BEFORE it got cold) and sit and read and people watch. Sleeping in is also on the list as is yoga...I really miss yoga! If money were no object I would also go to the spa and get EVERYTHING they had to offer :)

Oh my gosh, that is so true! I can NOT imagine any of my children not being in my life, and I really wonder how I could have thought I'd be happy being a nurse only!

Does unlimited me have unlimited funds too???? Because I would get on a plane right now, somewhere warm and not stroller friendly and just sit at a seaside cafe somewhere eating and drinking delicious things uninterrupted.

But, like you, I'd miss my kids... the truth is that even when I do get a break I just want to spend time with them anyway. They're fun! I love seeing the expression on their faces when they see new things too, so the hot coffees and relaxing dinners can wait until they're older. I don't mind.

I would sleep in. When I got up around 9am, I would go to breakfast with my husband at The Puffy Muffin (can't take the girls there because it's a tiny place with cramped tables). Then, I would go see a movie, maybe two. I miss going to theatre. After the movie(s), I would have dinner at some really nice adult-only type place. Then come home and spend time with my laughing smiling babies until bedtime. I'm actually closing my eyes and picturing this glorious day...as I consider calling the grandparents. :rotflmbo:

Exactly that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know, I think I'd settle for a nice, long bath and then go grab dinner and drinks with my hubby and some good friends... oh wait.. maybe I could hire a babysitter so I could do that!!! :p

I agree with PP's and could now never imagine my life without my babaies and I often wonder what I did with my time before they were born.

But since I can dream, I would sleep, sleep and sleep more. Like not get out of bed for 48 hours kind of sleep....DH with me or not. I think it's ironic that all I want to do now is stay in bed, but when I was on bed rest for 3 weeks all I wanted to do was get out of bed.

Oh, I would also have more than one drink. I love my beer and after I finish one, I begin to salivate for another. And another... A nice bottle of wine would be...ahh, I can't even let me self go there!

And then I would visit friends.

This is a really fun topic!

In a pretend world, I'd spend the day at the Wynn Las Vegas pool, and while I'm dreaming... I'd be wearing a really cute bikini and drink yummy mojitos all day. At night I'd want to go to a Jimmy Buffett concert and afterwards, out to dinner somewhere super fancy and get all dressed up. I just read this to my husband and he literally just asked me what he'd be doing while I was doing all the fun stuff! I suppose I'd take him with me then. :)

Realistically I think I'd like to sleep the entire day. Not as exciting, but I'd probably enjoy it more than anything else right now.

I would go to Berlin, with or without DH. (Looking back on my life before the babies, I really cannot think of any excuse for me NOT to have gone visit this nearby city. Ah well, I'll enjoy my zillionth time in Paris WITH my precious little girls.)

What else? Clean. Decorate the house. Watch movies. Get really drunk. Bake. Read. Shop. AND SLEEP!
