If it weren't so pathetic, it would be funny

DH this morning looking at the info from their 2-year doctor's visit: "It says here they may walk backwards at this age. Trent, walk backwards." (tries repeatedly to convince him to do this) "He's not doing it. You should work on that."

Me, trying to decide if he's kidding: "They've been able to walk backwards since about 12 months."

DH: "Well, I think he forgot."

Me: "Noooo, he didn't forget, he's just not a dog. He'll do it when he wants to."

DH: still trying to get him to walk backward only now he's holding his hands and trying to force it

Me: "Here, look at the rest of the stuff. They can do all of this up to pedal a tricycle. Their legs aren't long enough yet. We're working on that. (admittedly sarcastic)"

I'm still hoping he was trying to be funny. Anyone else have a DH who doesn't get it at all?

 It's as if he thinks they won't ever do it if he doesn't teach them. Personally, my DH and I don't take the milestones list all that seriously. While missing a milestone might indicate a problem, there usually isn't a problem. Also, for what it's worth, my guys started pedaling at 2yrs 9mo on the dot. I think that's pretty average. They also pedal backwards... :)

:rotflmbo: That's too funny. My dh, luckily, leaves that kind of "stuff" up to me and doesn't bother to much with it...if he did, I think our conversation would be much like what yours was! Gotta love dh's! ;)

 That's pretty funny! In my experience, kids never do anything on command.
