If I wasn't living it, I could have laughed

We got our flu shots yesterday. I had to get mine and I took the three youngest with me. Annika and Natalie also had to get their Dtap.
Annika realized as soon as I put her on the table what was happening and began to scream. "I NO want shot. You NO poke me!" and wailing. Lots of wailing. Annika's screams set Natalie off, who went on the defensive and began to hit the lady administering the shot. I would have put a stop to that but my hands were full of screaming almost 4 year old as it was. As soon as Annika was off the table and had a peppermint in her mouth, she was fine. Natalie walked back to the table, hopped on up and laid down, announcing it was her turn. The lady giving her shots, was showing her stickers and fixing bandaids up for her, everything was fine. The Dtap was no problem. Natalie barely flinched but they used the air gun. The flu shot went into the other leg. The lady opted to go with the needle on that one. I swear, Natalie rose up of that table, whipped her head around and stared right at the tech and said, "YOU hurt ME! You HURT ME! Bad lady. You hurt me!" No crying just full blown, I want to hurt you back, mad.
Ever since yesterday morning, I have had to listen to Annika tell her shot story. How she has two owies from two shots and she doesn't like shots. Natalie, on the other hand, took it much more personally. She is telling everyone, "Those people hurt me. Mommy let THOSE people HURT me." Everytime she sees a band aid or looks at her thighs, she starts up about "Those People."
Like I said, it's almost funny.

That is funny, thanks for the laugh. Kids are so funny! But I get what you mean about it not being so funny when you're the one living it!!
