If baby A is vertex, B is breech...

I have no problem with baby A being vertex, B being breech and going for a vaginal delivery, but for those who have BTDT, did you have to have an episiotomy? That is my biggest fear that I have delivering twins. Oh yeah, and all the flashbacks of "Dirty Jobs" where Mike Rowe is elbow deep in a cow... I don't want to feel like that cow!!! :p

My ob did the episiotomy before he started. Said it was better then tearing. With that said after i had my girls, he had to reach in and help one of the placenta's out.

LOL - had to laugh at the imagery of being elbow deep in a cow!! and YES... that is pretty much how it is!
For me.. Baby A was vertex and B was Breech... I delivered vaginally (after Dr. attempting to manually turn B after A was delivered) it wasn't sucessful so she was born breech. I had NO episiotomy and NO tearing! and as you can see from my siggy.. I didn't have small babies either - :)

My girls were born this way. My B the doctor just delivered breech less chance of prolapsed cord this way. I had a tiny tear, no big deal really. It was a 2nd degree minor tear for my twins, my son was a 3rd degree major tear.

    They were only 5lbs 10oz and 5lbs 3 oz
My singleton son was 5lbs 6oz

I did end up having to have an episotomy. DS was on the bigger side (then expected...7.10lbs) and the doctor needed to use forceps to help with his delivery. My DD (Baby B) was born footlong breech...basically the doctor just reached in and pulled her out by her feet 4 minutes after I had Baby A.

I had 4th degree with my first (she was 9lbs+) and I teared again with the twins (2nd, slight 3rd) with the twins. A was vertex, out in 4 pushes and close to 8lbs. Brother followed 4 minutes later and I think he was "responsible" for the tearing (same weight). But like the first time, I had very little problems with it. I was walking again so quickly, back on my feet in no time. My doctor prefers "natural" tearing (which happened with the twins. With the first I had an epistomy as well since I had a forceps delivery and in order to get the forceps in ... well, you get the picture! But again, I healed very quickly and nicely, never had issues with it!
