Anyone have any ideas for lunch box type meals? In a few months my kids will be trying a morning program which requires them to bring a lunch box. We typically have warm meals so I need to start getting them used to it. Also, the items should be somewhat feasible for a 2-3 year old to handle

I, too am looking for ideas for lunch box type meals, as my girls will be starting preschool this fall. We also usually have warm meals at lunch. In preparation, I have started to try to make sandwiches occasionally for their lunch, to see how they do. We've had luck with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ham and cheese sandwiches. It's been a struggle though, as they often seem more interested in taking the sandwich apart, than in eating it. I'm also thinking about including items like carrot sticks, cheese sticks, and cut up pieces of fruit.

My older DD goes to preschool 2 days per week and although her tastes are somewhat limited this is what I give her.

Turkey and Swiss rolled up (she doesnt like the idea of a sandwich)
    Cold Chicked Nuggets
Some Moms do the Uncrustables and those boxes you see in the lunch meat section
    Carrot Sticks
    Fruit
    Squeezabe Yogurt Sticks
    Crackers etc.

    Just a few ideas.

My kids go to school two days a week and I have to prepare a dairy and nut free lunch for them. I make one sandwich and split it between them (tunafish, egg salad, creamcheese and jelly, etc). I also include some fruit, a yogurt shake, cottage cheese, maybe some chips, things like that. I swtich off depending on what I happen to have in the house. The school doesn't really want them to have dessert as they say the kids will just prefer to eat that and won't eat their other things.
