What can I have ready to go so that when they start screaming for food all I have to go is going into the fridge and open a tupperware container??!!

Pre-cooked veggies? Pre-cooked pasta? Great idea. I really should do that. I feel bad when they have to wait for me to cook their veggies and/or pasta!

Some foods we have ready to grab:
    - pieces of rinsed, canned fruit (peaches, pears etc)
    - pieces of cheese
    - rice cakes

I always have some pasta with veggies like diced carrots and peas, in a ziploc in the fridge for a quick meal! I throw it all in one pot and cook it all together. Sometimes I throw it in the microwave with some shredded cheese.

I also forgot to add chickpeas. We always have chickpeas in a container in the fridge to grab if they are getting hungry before the meal is ready!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. My screaming, "over-hungry" children will appreciate prompt food :)

another tip i got from my sister..

I've been buying the gerber graduates green beans, carrots peaches and apples in the jars in little chunks. so much easier than atrying to do it myself. My green beans are never mushy enough. You can buy sodium free canned veggies or the canned fruits in their own juices and chop up yourself. MUCH cheaper than the stuff made for babies..

    HI,

I always gave my kids cheerios and KIx when I sat them down so it bought me a few minutes to get everything made.
