ID or Frat?

Hi everyone, long time lurker here! Wish I would have said Hi sooner, but I enjoy reading everyones posts so much and usually any question or advice I have sought after was already brought up in another thread.

Until now...
Now I could use a little help from my fellow twin mommies!

We have twin girls who are almost 5 months old already....wow where does the time go? Slow down girls, slow down.
We got our pathology report from our OB that said the girls were indeed identical, but DH and I are still skeptical at times. We never recieved a copy of it, our OB just told us the results. She almost sounded a little confused herself as she was trying to explain it to us.
We purchased a DNA kit and are still waiting for the results. THere are times that I cant tell in a photo who is who, although in real life we can tell them apart just fine.
Would love to hear what you all think! Hopefully the pictures are good enough to get an idea, I have a heck of a time getting them to both look at me at the same time!

This is a game I stink at, so for what it is worth, I think ID. However, I can say with assurance is that they are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your pictures with us!

 

I'm gonna go with ID, but I'd like to see a few more pictures as they grow.

Seriously, I've never confused my boys, even in pictures - and mine looked very similar at birth. I've seen only parents of ID confuse the babies.

 

They look ID to me and very cute!

 

They look pretty identical but I do see why you question it. They don't look SUPER identical. Hmm... it's the report that's making me say yes and they do look alike. Not 100% sure on this one tho!! I think I need more pictures..

Hello and :welcome:. I definitely say ID .

 

My boys are fraternal and it's always been obvious to me. Your girls are identical.

Identical doesn't mean you're never going to see any variations (due to weight, slight differences in something due to the egg splitting late, etc.). But there's a big difference between fraternal and identical!

Congrats on your lovely babies.

We should find out in the next week. It doesnt matter either way, but it is fun to know (not to mention nice to know the answer to that nagging question everyone asks).
I see many similarities and differences in them. So it makes it hard to determine whether they are actually ID or frat. We shall see! Ill post the results once they are in!!

Exactly! Its hard to determine, especially now that their is a big weight difference in them. Ill try to get better pics up. When you look at their features seperate (eyes, ears, nose, mouth) they match almost identically.

I am leery of trusting the report since my doctor didnt really sound as though she even understood what it said. We will know soon enough

 

I would say probably identical but i do see differences. Their noses look a little different and the shape of their face (but we all know that doesn't mean much). I waiting for our test results too and getting very impatient lol
