ID, Frat question

I am just curious about what you girls think. My boys are said to be ID, they have the same eye colour, same hair colour, same blood type, it was confirmed they shared a placenta as well, and even showed signs of TTTS, BUT they look NOTHING alike! So my question is, as it was said to be an extremely mild case of what looked like TTTS, and what looked like 1 placenta, could they be frats?

They look identical to me! And adorable!

 

I would say they favor each other a lot... if not identical. I'm sure you can see differences as the parents. You can get the dna test done, right? If it were me, I'd want to know for sure, even if just for medical reasons! they are very cute!

They look identical to me as well. I know sometimes as parents, we can see all kinds of differences that others can not. My husband and I have never been told if our girls are identical and he swears they aren't, yet there are very few outside our immediate family (and even some of them) that can tell them apart.

 

I agree they do look identical to me, especially that last picture! :wub:

My girls are ID, too ... though others can't tell them apart (they are almost 3 now and people still can't tell them apart until they get to know them verrrrry well ... even their little pre-school teachers ask me who is who every time I drop them off) I think they look very different. Their differences are very obvious to me. I can tell them apart by the way they sound and act and what makes them tick ... but their physical differences are pretty easy for me to spot, too ... especially if I have them both in the same room ... if you just hand me one and I didn't get them dressed (ie remember what they are wearing) then I may have to look twice. Anyway, your boys look ID to me ... I think it is just that you are their Mommy so they are so different to you.

I guess I'm the first one to say they don't look identical to me. However if you know for sure it was one placenta then they have to be. My twins' placenta was actually two fused together. So it looked like one and we didn't know until after the pathology report was done that there were actually two. So we did a DNA test. www.dnasolutions.com for $99. It was so worth the money.

I would love to see a few more pictures of them face forward if you have a chance.

 

So CUTE! I think it's really hard to tell in pictures. My girls look similar in photos, but in person EVERYONE (not just family) can tell them apart... immediately. They look very different in person. As for your boys, I do detect differences. Let us know what you find out if you test!

 

Identical and I would even bet money on it!

 

The one looks like he has dimple in his chin, the other not so much. However one of my identical boys has a stronger dimple than the other.

i can definitely see a difference between them, but they're very similar. because there is a difference it would probably be worth it to do a DNA test. it's a tough call. i don't blame you for being unsure, i don't know whether i think they look ID or frat, either! ardon:

I vote fraternal, though it seems I am in the minority! They are both absolute stunners, though!

I am a twin myself, and my sister and I do not know for sure whether we are ID or fraternal - although even my parents had to rely on name tags when when we were little to tell us apart! I like to assume that we are ID, so I don't know if we'll ever do the tests. (Would change my mind if there was a medical reason to know, though.)

They do look very much alike, but I also think they are fraternal. They are cutie pies!!!

They are adorable! Thanks for the added pictures. I'm still going to say fraternal, but they are very close looking I can understand why you would post this thread. You'll never regret doing the DNA test. Best $99 dollars I've spent in a long time. I was tired of wondering and getting asked that ID/Frat question all the time. Ohhh in the new pics they do look different. We're waiting to see if the boys still look alike in a few yrs and then we'll get the testing done.

 

I know! I was at the mall on Sunday and 4 different people told me how identical they look, so I really don't know.....
