It's okay to take ibuprofen right? I have some serious pain that I'm going to urgent care about tomorrow and it seems the IBUs work really really well!!!

Nope. Tylenol only unless you talk to your doctor first.

You will likely be okay. However, ibuprofen is like aspirin in that is can cause bleeding or make it worse. This is why you shouldn't take it in your last trimester( labor/c-section usually = bleeding). Be sure to tell your doctors when you see them that you have taken it so they will be aware of the risks. I will say though some women have to take blood thinners and even aspirin during pregnancy for other medical conditions and everything turns out fine. Try to stick to the Tylenol from now on though! I hope you are feeling better.

Hmmm... If you have already taken it I would probably call the doctor just to be sure. I have read that it should not be taken particularly in the 3rd trimester, but I am not sure the reason. Your best bet is to call your OB today and find out what to do at this point.

Good luck, and try not to worry until you talk to your doctor.

I think the problem is with long term use, but it is an NSAID. I'm on Indocin for contractions which is also an NSAID. I won't be able to take it later in my pregnancy because it can cause low fluid levels and problems with heart or lungs for the babies (I can't remember which though). I don't think taking it once is going to be a huge cause for concern, but I wouldn't take any more without talking to your doctor.

I always heard no ibuprofen, just Tylenol. I would call your OB to let them know you took it.
