I am interested in knowing whether ibuprofen has worked for your teething babies and especially whether it has helped them sleep?our pedi suggested that we give for teething and bad nights ibuprofen and I am about to giving it to them.

ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil is the pain med that I give my kids. So yes I would give it to them if they are having trouble sleeping due to teething, I hope you all are able to get some sleep soon!

YES!! It's the only thing that has worked for us. I've tried oragel, teething tablets & tylenol.

On really bad days I would alternate between motrin and tylenol.

My one son is on his last two molars and then we are done with teething.

Yes, we use ibuprofen frequently for teething. If they are really crabby and seem to be in pain during the day, I will give it then, too.

Target's generic verison of Motrin was the only thing that helped with Max & Lily. They tylenol was like giving them water, but I guess every child is different. Good luck on finding something that works for your kids.

Ibuprofen was (and still is) a big help for my kids when teething. I also second the recommendation for the Target brand, I feel it works just as well as the name brand.

Ibuprofen is suppose to be taken with food (or milk) not on an empty stomach. I didn't find any noticeable difference with Ibuprofen -- the tylenol worked for us but it was on an every 4 hours strict schedule. I have done Ibuprofen and alternate tylenol for temperatures. That was helpful. Each kid is different. My youngest - tylenol did nothing.

I also found teething gel was great if I suspected a sore throat and will give them across their mouth inside to get to the back of their throat.

We also swear by ibuprofen here. I find it lasts longer than Tylenol, and my guys love the taste. We use it when teething gets so intense that the boys are very uncomfortable, and will give it every night for a few nights if necessary. We also use a generic; I'm lucky enough to work for a drug wholesaler so I get it at a big discount and my guys do great on it! :D
