I would just like to know what's so bad about napping?!

If someone tucked me gently into my bed 2 times per day to nap for as long as I'd like I'd be in heaven!! :lazy: I'm on TS right now b/c I put my girls down for a nap 40 minutes ago and all they are doing in there is babbling then fussing then babbling again! Go to sleep girls!!! I want them to go to sleep so that I can take a nap too!

What is so bad about sleep, why do babies fight it?! They need to take advantage of it now while they can!!

Thats the million dollar question in our house too! I think they are so excited with all of their new skills that they just want to play. My girls were playing for an hour before they fell asleep for their last nap.

DD is younger and at the stage where she's obviously tired (yawning, fussing, puffy eyes), and yet screams as soon as I put her down. Fun.

Mine do that too. Put them down and they just start screaming or playing.

I'm with you! Someone please come tuck me in!

Mine will usually lay down without much fuss. It's just that they'll only sleep for 20 or 30 minutes and then wake up overtired and cranky and won't go back to sleep!

This made me laugh  How nice would it be if they were grateful for being tucked in instead of resented it? Like "Thank you for making sure I get the sleep that I need."

I'll come tuck you in Gina if you promise not to cry!

I always say that you know a person is officially a grown-up when they WANT to take a nap...

Mine are clearly tired when they go down. Sometimes they just babble back and forth though. Maybe mine need to wind down more  ?

Can you come and tuck me in, too? My four year old, who still takes little naps in the afternoon, actually likes naps sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes.

Oh yeah at 9-10 months was the hardest phase because the boys did not want to take their morning nap since they were practicing pulling up in the crib and babbling at each other. I did separate them for a couple of weeks for their morning nap until they starting going to sleep quicker and then I moved them back. Seemed to help them.

I promise I won't cry! I'll go straight to sleep and stay that way for many hours!!

And I'll tuck you in tomorrow!

And believe me, when they are teenagers and dragging out of bed, I will remember this!! :diablo:

I would love it if all my girls did was babble at each other, instead mine scream & cry before falling asleep!! I hate to listen to it, but I know that's what they need to do in order to wind down. <_<

I am all for naps!!! I also would love to be lovingly tucked in to sleep for as long as I wanted  Maybe we can start putting eachother down for naps instead of our kids! heehee

Babies are quite obviously insane. I would give anything for some uninterrupted middle of the day sleep!

Ugh, I needed to read this post right now! :D

My DD just went to bed at 2 PM for her morning nap. That's right. 7 straight hours up, and got crankier every hour.

Now I have a few minutes of peace and quiet because my DS went down for his afternoon nap at the same time she went down for her morning nap. <_<

i say the same thing... if someone said, "okay, time for you to take a nap, you look tired!" i'd be like, "yeah, you're right. i AM tired. i could use a few hours..." my girls play around, FINALLY fall asleep, then wake up after like 40 minutes. that's NOT a nap.

You ladies are too funny!! :D

Shoot, I'd even like to just lay in my bed in a dark room with noone to bother me, and be able to get up whenever I wanted! Who am I kidding... I'd fall asleep!

I thought it was just my babies who were all of a sudden doing crazy non-napping days! All they want to do is PLAY! Mommy wants to have some alone time, and maybe eat a bite or two!!

That is the question around here most days too. I love it (sarcasm) when you put them down and they scream bloody murder. If someone put me down for a nap, I would be in heaven! Momma needs time to get things done, GO TO SLEEP!
Yesterday, I actually got good naps out of Sophia (both morning and afternoon) and a awesome afternoon nap from Luke. I almost died from shock.

I TOTALLY needed this post today! DD took an hour long nap after being up since 5 fricken 30 this morning I'm ok with an hour in the morning but then woke up after only 50 minutes this afternoon. For Gosh sakes you're exhausted just sleep child!

I used to joke with DH when they were infants and waking every 3 hours (or less) that when they were teenagers we're going to set their alarm and have them bring us some milk every 3 hours for 4 months!! LOL :)

haahaa I know. When you are little and have all the time in the world to sleep, you don't want to! When you are an adult and desperately want to sleep, you can't.
