I win the biggest belly award

I went to a baby shower this weekend for a friend who is due with a singleton about 2 weeks after my 40-wk due date (so she's due June 27th). There were 2 other women there pregnant with singletons, both due in July.

My belly blew them all away! It was kind of funny how proud I felt being the biggest belly in a room full of pregnant women. I felt bad for the baby shower recipient, though, because I think that all the guests were paying more attention to me and asking me a gazillion questions.

My friend has been kind of shy about her pregnancy - DH & I have noticed her hiding her belly in a jacket or with crossed arms if she is in the company of men other than her hubby. But in front of all the women she was very comfortable and I finally got a good look at her. LOL

Then the shower guests decided that they wanted all 4 of us in a "belly shot" so we all had to stand together and show off for the cameras.

 

Oh.. please share the picture! I love pregnant bellies! It sounds like everyone had a good time!

Still waiting for the pix to be emailed to me. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that day. I did have my camera phone, but the pix are less than stellar if the room is not super-bright.

 

For me it was the other way around... my husband's family had a shower for me and his cousin - this is my first pregnancy, and it's her fourth. She's 4 weeks behind me, and even then, she's slightly bigger than me! Everyone was making comments about it, saying, "Oh, you're so small for twins!" Just what I needed to hear when I was already worrying if they were growing on track. Thankfully my ultrasound was yesterday and things look great, but still - it wasn't too pleasant having everyone scrutinize it so much.
