You can get footed pajamas in larger sizes. I usually find them at Kohl's and Target, and occasionally at WalMart. Although we did stop using them for a while when they boys were just getting potty trained, because it was too hard for them to get out of during the night.

I've seen larger size footie pjs at the Carters outlet. I've also seen two piece footies where the top snaps to the bottoms. I have tried either yet though.

My boys will wear size 5 Carter's footed fleece jammies this winter (I bought them at the outlet and recall seeing some size 6 there as well). Target also had some Cherokee branded ones but the zippers are very poor quality -- one broke the second use and I was zipping it so I know it was not from rough handling! So, I'm sticking with Carter's. We also have some two-piece footless fleece jammies and the boys just wear socks with those. As for PT, my boys can unzip and pee without taking their arms out but for a girl, a one-piece will definitely make any night trips to the toilet much more difficult.

ETA: Wal-Mart carries Gerber fleece one-piece sleepers in bigger sizes but the legs and feet are really strangely shaped and very skinny and the zippers don't go down very far which makes them more difficult to put on than they need to be. Avoid!

I've also found they run REALLY small and they shrink a lot. Not worth it.

I've never had a problem with the Gerber ones and my kids love them. Also, I bought several two-piece pj's at KMart that can be footed or un-footed. They have a long cuff that you can roll if you don't want the foot on or pull it down over their feet and flip a toe-piece over and have them footed. They are by Snugabye and are called convert-a-foot. The ones I linked are one-piece fleece, but we have two-piece cotton ones. They are perfect because they can wear them even when it isn't freezing out.

Online, you can find tons of styles for any size - even adult!

I'm not a fan of the Snugabye or the Gerber ones. The Snugabye ones just don't look that comfortable and are a royal pain to put on the kids, and the Gerber ones are shorter and wider than the Carter's and they pill up like crazy. I bought some Gerber around xmas time, they fit into them for about a month before a combo of the pajamas shrinking and the kids getting longer happened.

I'm not buying anymore one piece footed pajamas. I like the two piece ones, A&R can put them on themselves, and take them down themselves, and I don't have to worry about their feet growing out of the foot portion.

We, too, have the Convert a Foot ones, I believe from ShopKo. I got them clearanced a few years ago & just bought a few of every size. We didn't use them last winter when the boys were freshly potty training, but I plan to dig them back out this winter. I want to say I bought them into the 5-6 range, so I know they go big. And I've seen ADULT sized ones at Target, so I know they carry big sizes there.

You may not get Carters' softness or quality, but you can get similar styles still!

PS I also hated the Gerber ones when the boys were little. The arms always got too short & they didn't hold up well in the wash. I think my guys wore them 2-3 times before I donated them...I wouldn't even SELL them they were that bad!

Carter's footed jammies go to a size 7, so not all hope is lost.

But potty training does become a bit more difficult. :( We trained Ben in the winter, but he still wore the footed jammies occasionally. He could unzip them to go potty, but just needed help getting them back on, since the arms would turn inside out.

They have some on their website, but one piece only, and not much choice.

When my son was small I loved footie pjs. I used them long after potty training. I tried to do the same with my girls but quickly found fotties and potty training in girls do not mix well. A boy can stand up and pee but girls must take the the pjs all the way down and almost completely off to use the potty. I quickly realized it was not a good match.

I bought a couple of the fleece pants and shirts PJs from Carters and a couple of fleece footed PJS too...my lil boy and girl looked motified when I showed them the footed ones, saying those were for babies. Not sure what made them decide that! Then I figured the fleece pant PJs are probably better for my potty-trained kiddos anyway and returned the footed....so sad, because they really are sooo cute in them.

Sarah still wears footies (size 4T and even some 3T still) and can go potty in them just fine. Granted, she's not dry at night yet, so she never has to struggle out of and back into them in the middle of the night. But she does just fine with the last-thing-before-bed potty.

My sister finds footies for her son who is 9! (He likes them.) I'm not sure where she gets them, but I know they're out there!

I wish my kids would wear 2-pc PJs. We inherited about a dozen pairs of Hanna Andersson ones which are so soft and lovely, and neither kid will wear them. Amy prefers nightgowns (of which we only have 3, and I refuse to pay $20 and up for more when we have so many 2-pc PJs already).
