I took them out to dinner, all by myself!

DH and my parents are out of town right now. I took the girls to the mall this afternoon and then it was getting close to dinnertime, and I said what the heck? Let's eat out, and not just the food court. So I took them to a family friendly restaurant in the mall. I let them get mac and cheese since I knew they would eat it, and then they had applesauce for dessert. They did so good and the waitress was amazed that I took two year old twins out to dinner. I told her we were having "girls night out" and she thought that was really cute. Anyway, it was a nice time and best of all, I didn't have any dinner clean up!

That is cool.a real girls night out. I don't know if I would take all 3 of my girls out on my own to a restaurant yet. The most I have done is the food court...and that was a little crazy.

Way to Go, Momma!! Sounds like you and the girls had a great day! I'm glad you are having fun with you "mini-vacation". Enjoy! :)

That is awesome! I've been tempted once or twice when DH has been out of town. Mine don't get as much practice going out to eat as yours do, though, and I didn't think they could handle it. Congrats to you!

Yay, I would love to take mine, but I don't think I could handle the twins and Hannah. They can barely sit through a 30min shopping trip to Walmart. Good for you though. It must of felt great!

Very cool! I am glad that you are getting a chance to enjoy some much-needed alone time with your girls. I have to admit, while we have done lunch alone at fast-food type places, I have yet to brave a restaurant alone with the kidlets. You rock!!!!!

Oh - it is liberating isn't it!!

Plus SOOOOO nice to not have to clean up!

Our house is on the market and DH works late a night or 2 weeks so if we have a lunchtime or evenign house showing, out we go! I was really nervous the 1st time, but no sweat now!

    Enjoy it!!!

You are a much braver person than I am. I used to take them to the doctors by myself but that was when they were in infant carriers - I don't think I would venture that now. :D

WTG, I think that it is a fantastic accomplishment! A couple of weeks ago I took the kids out to breakfast on my own and they did really well. I was very proud of them and myself!

WTG!!! It gets easier. I haven't done a family restaurant but take them to the food court or to mall restaurants (chick-fil-a) alone. They do pretty good with it.

That is awesome!!! I have done the same. There is a scarey, exciting feeling when I'm out alone with the girls. My biggest fear is that they will have a huge fit, and I will be scorned and frowned upon by everyone for bringing babies to dinner. Oh well, kiss my a**. :)

I have been taking my girls out to all sorts of places since they were born. I use to sling one and use the car seat when I went grocery shopping/ sometimes hold one so I only had one hand to do everything!! We have travelled alone at least 4 times on 5 hour car rides both ways, stopping at various restaurants for breaks. Most of the time people love seeing them having a blast in the high chairs. The first time they screamed almost the whole 5 hours. We have come along way!( They will be 1 year next wednesday)

I have never wanted to be afraid to go out to do things, because I want to enjoy exploring with the girls. Now we go to this great Mexican restaurant where they don't care if the girls throw their food around. The girls love it!! We always go shopping, to the mall, and the other week-end, we went to the library. I was so afraid that they would make way too much noise, but they were really good. There was a kid section where I let them out to play with the toys and we played with the books. We rented three barney videos. It was a good time.

There daddy helps sometimes, but my goal was to be totally independant so that we never were stuck in the house. I encourage everyone to do the same!! I also want them to get used to going out so that when they are a bit older, they will be used to this so maybe ( I pray) they will be better behaved. ( I'll post when they are 2 and see if things are the same :) )

But honestly, don't be afraid!!! Go out! Who cares what other's think. I applaud all that go out one their own and are brave enough to take TWO babies!!! Bravo!!!! I know it is stressful, but it feels good to get out!

That is great! You are brave! The only place I have taken my girls to eat alone is the snack bar at Target. :D My girls love to have hot dogs and applesauce at Target.
