So, today I decided I had had enough of waiting for someone else to be home so that I could shower (I mean, it has been 4 days now). So, while BK was asleep in her bed, I put Aurora in her bouncey and placed her outside the shower door. I actually got to shower. She didn't even fuss at the thought of sitting there for 10 min. I think she was at ease b/c the noise machine I play in their room at night is the sound of running water.

Now here's my question...I hear people talk about showering with their kids. How? What are the logisitics behind this? At what age is that possible?

Hooray for showering! I used to put my two down for a nap and when I knew they were asleep I´d run to the shower. Now I shower before DH goes to work as both aren´t napping so well! Im sorry, I cant help with the showering with the kids as Ive never done it. GL!

    I'm wife to a Kenneth also :)

Anyhow, about the showers, I usually shower while my kiddos are awake and have since they were tiny. When they used to sleep a LOT I would just shower then. Once the napping wasn't as predictable, like around your babies age, I would put them both in their bouncies/swings/exersaucers outside the bath and shower away. They always enjoyed it. GL!

I actually just got out of the shower my twins. They're only 5 weeks old, but honestly, it's the only way we all get clean in one day and they LOVE it. What I do is: Before I get in I undress them down to the diaper and then wrap them up and put them right outside of my bathroom in their bouncy chairs so that I can peak on them while I'm in the shower. I put towels (it's quite a production) on the tile from the shower to the bouncy chairs so that I don't slip. I pick one up and take her diaper off and then we shower, I wash their hair and bodies. Then I put the first one down wrapped up in a towel back in her boppy and then I do the second baby. OR, I just shower with one baby each day- so they alternate days. They stay calm and love the water in the shower. I know it sounds like a lot to do but I'm used to it now and it really only takes about 15 minutes including my shower.

I showered when they were small like that and awake in their cribs or bouncies as long as they were within earshot. I take quick showers anyway.

As far as showering WITH them, my kids all hated the shower until they were able to stand up well in there. In fact I just started giving the twins showers instead of baths.

What I've always done is get 2 Bouncy's in the bathroom with me and put them in there. When they were little they would almost always fall asleep with the water and fan. Now they play and I can take a little longer. This works great for me and as I'm getting ready they're usually ok if they can see me.

I did the same thing. It was great. Then when they napped I could give my full attention to TS! :) Now I keep a bunch of toys in our bathroom and they play while I shower. Some days I get time to shave, other's they are fighting over the same toy or turning on the water in the tub :0

Congrats on the shower! You'll be able to do it more often now! :clapping:

I have always showered with my boys and still do to this day. It will probably have to stop soon though because they are getting to be a little old for it. But when they were little what I did was I put each one naked in a bumbo chair inside the shower. I would take my shower first while they just sat and played with toys and the water that was spraying on them. Then I would take one out of his seat and bathe him and then switch. After we had all showered I would get out wrap myself and each one of them in a towel and let them lay down wrapped up on my bedroom floor while I dressed. Then I would get them dressed. It was really easy and quick.
