I thought I would "teach" them something

My boys have started scaling the kitchen chairs and getting onto the table within a nanosecond. So, I removed all except for one chair. Thinking that if I got rid of all of the chairs, I would not have the opportunity to "teach" them that they cant climb on them through the use of "no" and re-direction, right. Wrong!!

Well, I was getting the kids ready to go out this morning and then I heard a crash of the chair falling over and a screaming child a few feet from me. Got him up, blood coming out of the mouth, screaming, bleeding not stopping. I had to take him to the ER because I was afraid he needed stitches. The chair caught his upper gum and scraped it up bad. But he did not need stitches and we are just giving him some Tylenol and Motrin today and tonight. Shame on me for trying to "teach" instead of just removing the chair. I should have known better.

:hug99: Lesson learned :pardon: this is one of those things that happens to most parents, just variations on the story. I am waiting for mine

BTDT...her bottom teeth ALMOST vame through her lower gums. You could see it from the outside...
She healed just fine though, and NO, even though I think she is my smartest kid, she didn't learn anything. We still have to keep all the chairs on their sides. (You should see my dining room!)
