I think we've turned a corner with the twins

Hi all,

I have to gush here to you all. Without this forum, I would have been so lost. Whenever I run into an issue with my boys, I'm on these forums and looking for advice. Thank you to you all!

I think we've turned a corner with the boys. Normally we have difficult days with the boys, feedings every 1.5 hours and some fussiness, and they never want to play or do tummy time for more than 20 seconds. Evenings are normally a nightmare, with them just not wanting to stop eating (BF) and then it's hard as heck trying to get them to settle down in their cribs. Evenings are the worst normally.

2 nights ago they went for a 5 hr stretch before their first nighttime feeding, followed by 4 hours. And last night my boys went 6 hours before their first night feed, followed by 3hrs and 3hrs!! And, we had a great day today, and got into a great routine of eat/play/sleep. No cranky babies at all today, and I even had the opportunity to bathe them late this afternoon. This evening, they each ate and then went down into their cribs for bedtime without a single fuss. I just can't believe it!!! I just hope this is more of a regular pattern now. I know we'll continue to hit some rough patches, but wowee.

They're 2.5 months old (1.5 months adjusted). Smiles all over the place, and cooing. My heart melts more each day

That is awsome! I remember the first "great" day we had like that. Just don't get discouraged if you still have a slip up evey now and then...it will continue to get even better!

After that night, the next night was a 4.5 hour stretch. Last night, another 6hour stretch between feedings! I was actually completely rested this morning when we all woke up!

That is wonderful to hear! I love posts like this. My boys seemed to get easier about that age, too--I think they just needed to get past that 6-week (adjusted) fussiness peak.

 

Yay that's awesome!! And gives me hope! Right now we are supplementing a bit because I can't handle the nursing every 2 hrs, but it's good to know that maybe in the next few weeks we can cut back the formula and go back to having more than 2 hrs between nursing sessions!!
