Well I think the time has finally come. My little half Monkey has turned into a FULL Monkey. Overnight Hunter has learned to climb over our superyard into the computer area and around the fireplace and into his brother's crib ALL IN ONE DAY. I don't mind the fact that he climbs into the crib but what scares me to death is him falling out of the crib. We have a crib tent on his bed but not on Keagan's yet as for the most part he cosleeps with me. I have NO idea what to do now!!! I can't leave the room without worrying what he might be getting into. I can try to baby proof most of the area's he can now get into. Around our fire place really worry's me. How do you babye proof compter cables? Also my kitchen. We had drawer locks on the kitchen drawers a long time ago but they broke them off when they were still in their walkers. this is when they were 9 months old. I just don't know if they would work or he would find a way to get them open. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks from one frazzled mom to another ;)

How scary and frustrating. My girls didnt climb on everything they got into everything. I had to baby proof everything in the house, the dryer, the fridge and had to put new locks on our cabinets because they figured out the first ones we got. For your computer cords they do sell things that cover and protect them, I think I saw them in the onestepahead magazine. They have alot of good things to help child or twin proof your home. You can look online too. Hope you find something to help take some of the anxiety of having curious twins. They will outgrow it and it will get better. They grow up so fast!!

I have heard thet there actual professional "Baby Proofing Agencies." They come to your house and review everything and install what needs to be installed. Look in your yellow pages and/or Google them. I would immagine it's kinda pricy, but isn't their safety priceless :) I plan on using them once my kids walk and jump more.

How frustrating! They sell covers for cables and wires. They look like tubes and you feed all of the wires in so they are all in one spot. I think that you could probably find these in any office store (Staples etc). For the fireplace they sell a cushioned piece that goes over the edge of the hearth and also a gate at [post="http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/search.jsp?N=0&Nty=1&Ntk=Def&Ntx=mode%20matchpartialmax&Ntt=fireplace"]One Step Ahead[/post]. As far as the crib, maybe invest in another crib tent just to make it off limits. Try looking on freecycle.org to see if you can get a free one if you aren't going to be using it for long or often. And, as far as the kitchen I was going to suggest gating it off but he'd most likely get over the gate. Try the drawer locks. Or remove anything that you don't want him getting into from low cabinets and lock the ones that are higher up in case he gets onto the countertop.

I hope that this stage passes quickly.
