I think I made a deal with the devil

So, we were given a 90% chance this baby was a girl at an u/s at 21 weeks. However, we saw no proof (no three lines). She was kind of backwards and a bit stubborn. There was no money shot. We definitely saw no boy parts. So, I've always referred to this baby as a girl but know in the back of my mind it still could be a boy. So, we're naming her Rebecca and have called her "Becca" or "Bec" or "Becs". So I asked DH what we're going to do if it's a boy. He said, let's just call him "Becks". Ummm...no. HOWEVER. I did agree to call him "Beckett" if it's a boy. DH tried for Beckett Joshua (after the Red Sox pitcher which is why he is so excited about the name Beckett) which I absolutely said NO WAY. I agreed to Beckett James. Now, it's not that I think Beckett is an awful name. It's just something so unlike me and it COMPLETELY out of sync with Matthew and William. LOL. I can't believe I did this. This baby better be a girl

LOL! Dan wants a boy and will not even consider a girls name. Let's just say if this baby is a girl, I hope it won't end up being named Jake too, lol.

 

Oh sheesh...you are right Beckett is really out of sink with your other boys' names!! LOL! I hope for your sake it's really a girl...but maybe you ought to have a short list of boy names on hand just in case it turns out to be a boy and you decide you just can't handle Beckett!!! Besides...think about how your ds would feel knowing his name was derived from a girl's name b/c they were 90% sure he was a girl.... eeeek... Guess, you could leave that part out and just try to convince him you both loved the name Beckett for a boy. LOL!

 

I like Beckett, what a cute name I'm partial to Rebecca (Becky) though too Either way, great choices!

I am with Becky, I like the name Beckett and am very partial to the name Rebecca

 

I was thinking Beckett was a cool name to. It doesn't really go with your other sons' names, but I think that is ok!!

 

I think Beckett Joshua is SO cute!!!! either way, you have great names!

 

Thanks for the replies. It's not that I don't like the name. It just doesn't really "go" with the others. lol. If it is a boy, this is certainly something we're sure to laugh over.
