She has been getting really weird spots on her head. Then tonight she has developed a couple spots that look like ring worm. I am going to call the doctor first thing in the morning and try to get her in ASAP, since it is extremely contagious I want to get it treated right away-if that's what it is. I just feel horrible. I don't know how she would have gotten it. :unknw:

I will be taking all 3 kids to the doctor by myself. This is the first time. I have taken them to stores and what not by myself but never the doctor. I won't be able to use our stroller because there isn't enough room in the exam room, so I don't know what I am going to do. Wish me luck. And if you have any suggestions on how to handle all 3 at the doctor that would be wonderful.

good luck. I know that once I thought Gavin had ring worm but it ended up only being sever dry skin. i think it is always better safe than sorry.
as for handling all the kids, i say spoil them and bribe them. :D this works with Gavin. he gets a sucker if he is good, or a cookie, or juice. something like that.
    good luck!

You can always take the stroller and park it in the hall outside the exam room. Our pedi office actually has wagons for the kids to ride in(office is on the 3rd floor) and the wagons are parked by the main entrance on 1st. all wagons are then "parked"outside the exam rooms. It works really well, and their is always enough to go around. As for the ringworm..any playing in the park in sandboxes...or in the dirt..youdon't have to get it directly from an animal..

Like pp said, I would take the stroller anyway, even if the doc has to examine her out in the hallway, atleast you can have all 3 with you. If it makes you feel any better ring worm isn't a worm, it's a fungus. Probably equally as yucky, but the worm thing ups the yucky factor for me! Hope everything goes okay at the pedi.

Oh no Ronda! I would bring the stroller and park it outside of the exam room. Our exam rooms are tiny too, but I managed to squeeze the stroller in there somehow when they were younger! Let us know what the ped says. :hug99:

I didn't end up taking her to the doctor. I had some antifungal cream here at home and put that on her, right after posting on here. In the morning it was already better. And now, you can hardly tell there was ever anything there.

I did know what ringworm is; I got it from a cat one time. However, I did not know you could get it from going to the park...Thank you for letting me know that. We've been to the park a lot more the last couple weeks than we had been, so that probably where she did get it. We are never around animals. (Too many allergies in our family.)

It seems like you can get everything from just stepping foot outside these days. I don't feel so bad about staying in the house most of the time. ;)

Thanks everyone, for the tips on how to take them all to the doctor by myself. I'm sure I will have to do it eventually (hopefully not too soon).
