HI everyone!!! I had written a couple of posts about the "fear" of my husband returning to work full-time after a month off and he was going to be gone for five consecutive days/nights. Well, we did survive. It actually went a lot smoother than I anticipated. The biggest lesson I learned was to feed my babies at the same time through the night. It was extremely busy and I am so happy he is home again and off for a few days before we hit another five day stretch of him working but now I know I will make it!

Even at one point, it was 1 AM and my 3 yr.old came downstairs since the twins were crying loudly as I finished changing diapers and making bottles. I was able to get all 3 kids back in bed. Even though things went smoothly, I have a lot of respect for all the moms out there who do this alone. My husband and I have four children and I feel the twins have brought us together even more, since we have truly worked as a team with our family. I would truly be lost without him in so many ways.

Anyway, thank you for all the support and kind words from the posts. I just wanted to let everyone know our family did fine!!!!

Good Job -My husband went out of town for 4 days a couple of weeks ago. The best way I can say it is that I got through it, but it wasn't fun. I figured out the best part of the day is when he walks out of the home office ready to lend a hand. I agree with the statement about the moms who do it by themselves all the time.

My husband has been gone this whole week, and I was SO nervous about it. I thought I would go crazy....but we have done great! I guess I'm more capable than I gave myself credit for! Way to go Mommas! I'm glad your week went well. I am looking forward to having DH home again tomorrow!

That's great news! My DH is leaving on Sunday but for two days only. I'm thinking I'll skip the baths and solid food for one of those nights atleast :)

I am so glad you are doing well and it wasn't as bad as you anticipated. I dreaded being home by myself and I was from day one. But you get used it, even though it is still total chaos. WTG!

    Awesome! Good for you!
My DH travels all the time and here is something I did that really helped my sanity and wasn't too expensive: the most stressful time for me is getting them bathed/sponge wiped, and fed before bed, so I hired a 12 year-old girl in the neighborhood to come over for about 30 minutes each night while I got one ready for bed so that she could entertain the other one. Worked like a charm and much less screaming (and therefore less stress for me) for relatively little money.

    Good job!

I will be in that boat at the end of the month. I think we don't give ourselves enough credit and it is the fear of the unknown. I'm sure I will do fine, but I am lining up help anyway!

Glad you were able to do it all!
