So far so good. Right around when they turned 2, I bought a potty ring. Every night before bath, I put them on. Seamus has been going pee pretty much right away. Nicholas though seemed to not understand how to push it out and he always wanted to get up right away.

About a month ago, I bought potty chairs. Again, S would go each time but N would never go.

Today I started to potty train officially because for the last few days, N goes each time he is on so I thought now that they both go, I would start. It is funny actually because now when N is on the toilet, he stays there until he does both pee and poop (I hate typing those words out...I feel like I am five!). We can literally be in there for 20 minutes because he wont get off unless he does both! I was really proud of him because we were at a restaurant yesterday and before we left, I put them on and he did both and S went pee.

So today I put them on right when they got up. S went pee and of course N did both (I am starting to wonder how he can go poop each time! How much does he have in him!!!)

Then I continued to put them on every hour and they went. I am not too excited though because they will never tell me they have to go. So I know I have some time ahead of me before they will be trained but I think this is a good start.

:yahoo: that sounds like an AWESOME start Nicole!!!!! BTW, it took Ben a couple of weeks and Sarah a month or so to tell me they had to go. They started holding it and waiting to sit to go, but definitely didn't start telling me for a little while. You are on your way to being diaper free

Woo Hoo!! Great job so far!!!

No real advice to offer... one of the really advantages to daycare is that they did most of the training!! We did start training them at the same time and Emily took to it like a champ. Sam didn't and we stopped for a few weeks and tried again and he took right to it the second time. Of course it probably helped to motivate him to see his sister going to the potty and wearing big kid underwear.

We've been in pull-up's only at night time for almost 2 months here!! Yipee!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Sounds like they are off to a great start. I have been working with my DD for about a month, and she has been telling me here and there when she wanted to go, but just in the past week been telling me consistently. She has been wearing panties for two days, and NO ACCIDENTS! Give them time. .When they are used to the feeling they will tell you!

So today so far they are not in diapers and each had an accident. I know they will all day because they dont know yet to tell me. I guess from what I read there are two schools of thought. Go no diaper and maybe it will happen quickly or pull ups. I am thinking I am going to do pull ups for a while and take them every hour for a few weeks.

    WTG boys !!

I vote go no diaper. I put the girls in panties and knit pants or shorts and when they would pee it would run down their leg. That is when I told them; this goes in the potty, blah, blah, blah. They caught on very quick!

    Good Luck!!

I would try no diaper for a couple days and see how it goes. I had a false start with the right around 2 1/2, where I thought they might be ready, but they weren't. Both were still having a lot of accidents, so I bagged it and went back to diapers/pull-ups. Bea trained a couple months after that. Once she was telling me she had to go and kept a pull-up dry for a few days, I put her in underwear. I did use pull-ups at times after she was trained, like a long trip where we might not have potty access, but she did so good that we didn't have to do that many times. Now, Ainsley is a whole different story! She didn't train till a few months ago. I also had many, many failed attempts with her.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think we are off to a good start. Today N (who I thought might take longer) actually told me he had to go. I have been doing diaper free at home. I do have their pj bottoms on and they are wearing socks so the floor does not get that dirty! I put them on the toilet often.

Yesterday though was priceless. S came up to me waddling telling me he was wet. Their was a big poop at the bottom of his pants but never fell out since his pjs are tight at the bottom. Within seconds, N came waddling over to me telling me he was wet. Instead of quickly changing them, I decided to get my video camera and they were both saying they were wet and needed to be changed. That will be great to show them when they are older!
