Hi everyone, I really hope that I'm not driving everyone crazy (I've posted weeks before under another name [MotherhoodisJoy). I am 16 weeks pregnant and just about the whole pregnancy I've felt that I've been pregnant with twins. I have had 2 ultrasounds (not very good ones) and they saw 1 baby. But I've been feeling lots and LOTS of movement; wiggling, turning around, and kicking for about 2 weeks now.

Here is the point of my post: I feel movement on the opposite sides of my uterus AT THE SAME TIME. Today has been an especially busy day down there, and it really feels like two little people in there. I have two other kiddos so I have felt baby movement plenty-this just feels different. Just a few minutes ago I was feeling strong movement on the left and right sides of my uterus at the same time.

My question is, those of you who have confirmed twins, what does/did earlier movement feel like to you? Does/did it feel like your singletons (if you have them) or different?

Thanks so much for putting up with me ladies!

My guys felt heaps different from the start they were on the move all the timeday and night and compared to my first they were awake all the time. the books said its because they wake each other up all the time. yes it was on both sides and it got more uncomfortable as it went along. I had one up really high and one down in my pelvis. good luck either way. Have they tried a feotal heart beat monitor on you?

My singleton was as much of a wiggler as these two are, so I did feel her moving on both sides at once. She would stretch out and kick and punch like a little whirlwind in there! I knew it was definitely one baby, though, so I never wondered about twins.

This time it did feel different by around 16 wks or so. Sometimes their movements were distinctly different. Like one would be spinning and one would be kicking/pushing, on opposite sides of my belly, and there's just no way one baby could have been doing that! Of course, I knew it was twins early on so take that with a grain of salt!

I didn't know I was having having twins until they were born! I had an u/s at 23 weeks, but they didn't see two. I KNEW something was wrong/different. I really felt like it was twins the whole time. Its rare, but it does happen that they only detect one baby. Odds are it is one, but you never know..... ;)

I didn't feel regular movement until around 18-19 weeks, and it was never on both sides or anything like that. I could never really tell which one was moving.

I knew I was PG with twins at 5w3d.

Once, but it was too early to hear anything. My second appointment with my midwife I had just had an ultrasound 1/2 hour before the appointment so we didn't do the heart monitor. My next appointment with my midwife is next Tuesday and we'll try it then.

I have a friend who is about 18 1/2 weeks pregnant right now and she hasn't felt any baby movement yet. I've been feeling tons of good movement since week 14, and a few swishes a week before that!

That's what I'm feeling! If this is just one baby he/she is HUGE! (which would be weird as my two kiddos were small at birth.)

That is so crazy to have an u/s at 23 weeks and miss twins! Did you have your twins in the hospital?

I totally have the feeling that something is different this time. I already have a boy and a girl, so it's not just having a different gender. Something just feels different. Every pregnant symptom has been lots worse than with either of my other two kiddos. I've had lots of headaches this time-and normally I very rarely get headaches (not a usual pregnancy symptom for me) And the last few days I've been having pain-like the kind you have in your pelvis and uterus when you are at the end of a singleton pregnancy. I just don't know what to think.

There is part of me that doesn't ant to find out for sure if there are twins or not, as around here every hospital but one twins are a c-section, no vaginal delivery option. I know that at least a couple years ago there is one hospital that will allow a vaginal delivery, but they charged $60,000+ for it. I really want a vaginal delivery but we don't have that kind of money.

Thank you ladies for your patience with me! :grouphug:

Must be honest, my singleton moved A LOT more than my twins did. I felt her earlier (15 weeks as opposed to 19) and she was movin' and shakin' all the time all over the place. For what it's worth, she was a big baby (10.13) but that was just at delivery. She moved all over the place the whole pregnancy.

My singleton moved alot less than the twins. It seems I never get a break from the girls moving and grooving. I started feeling the twins at 14 weeks, right around the time we found out there was in fact two! (I knew from 8weeks on I was having twins, my family all thought I was crazy... Now I have the last laugh!!!)

That's pretty crazy! I guess there's just no way to know until u/s confirms it or until they come out!

I hardly ever get a break from movement! So much more moving than my other pregnancies. Right now I feel some kicking/punching on the left, and a rolling kind of feeling on my right. It just feels like 2 babies! I just don't see how one baby could be doing all this-if I were 24 weeks or something like that, sure, but at 16 weeks I just can't see this being one baby. :pardon:

I want another u/s! I'll have to see what dh says.
