Ugh, it's just been getting worse for the last three days and I had a sale yesterday and it made things even worse... It really hurt... worse is when I bend or stand too long... How am I going to take care of the kids? Picking them up from the floor/crib is just killing me.

Any magic advice to make it feel better?

Lower back? Upper back? What area of your back? Do you think it is a muscle? Nerve? Disc?

Anyway, I have off and on muscle spasms from a back surgery I had in 1995 for a ruptured disc. The best thing I can do when my back is acting up is to stay active, walk around, bend, etc. but that helps muscle spasms - that won't help a torn muscle, herniated disc, etc.

If it keeps hurting I would go see your doctor - back pain, unless you know exactly what is wrong - shouldn't be ignored, you don't want to do the wrong "treatment" and make it worse, you know?

I hope you feel better soon.

Try heat, ice, a hot shower. Tylenol or Motrin, too. I always feel much worse if I lay flat on my back or sit on a soft couch a lot.

An anti-inflammatory like Advil might help you feel a little better.

Did you see the doc yet? I really like those heated sticky pads that you can attach to yourself. They work well and really alleviate pain. I hope you feel better soon. Try and take it easy.

Thanks... It's my lower back. I've been taking Ibuprofen anyway because AF just showed up also... It's helping some.

Ice will reduce any inflammation in your muscles. Combined with tylenol *and* ibuprofin and slow stretches, that's what usually makes my back feel better (and it always aches a little)

How about a good muscle relaxer? ;) Or a glass of wine?

I hope you feel better soon! A few things that helped my back: Motrin, warm soaks in the tub, going to the chiropractor and using something like Icy Hot or Biofreeze. Take care of yourself and take it as easy as you can (hard to do with two toddlers, I know).

I second this and add a heating pad as well!

Yeah I really need to find a chiropractor. I have hip pains too so I really need to do it, but when? I don't even know how it works, do you need a referral? If it's not better tomorrow I'll try to go to the doctor... Taking them in and out of the crib is the worst!!!
