    Hi,

My name is Keren and I am new to this forum.

I did IVF+PGD 1 embryo transfer and I got twin girls... imagine my surprise...

I decided to do CVS to check if the twins are both girls because I am a carrier of Hemophilia and I didn't want to take the risk of later finding out that they are boys and not be able to do anything about it.

Doing the CVS was the worst decision for me. I did it at 11 weeks and I've been bleeding and on bed rest since than (I am now 17 weeks) . It's been really bad, but I was hopeful because the pregnancy seemed like it was going well.

On Thursday I went to a regular check-up and I found out that baby A doesn't have any fluid around her. The blood clot next to the placenta caused a fracture and there was a leakage. There is still a slim chance that it is going to heal itself and she'll be OK, but chances are slim...
I feel her moving so she must have some fluid there...

I am now supposed to be in total bed rest, which is basically not move. I really pray it helps...

Please pray for a miracle for me and my girls. We really need it!

    Thanks,

    Keren.

    You have my prayers, too.

Also, I may be way off base here, but I want to help. We had a similar situation, though I think the cause of our problem is different from yours. We did IVF and got twins. We transferred 3 embryos, though, so it was a big surprise to me when our doctor said she suspected identical twins (long story there, but the upshot is that I learned that identicals were 20x more likely with IVF).

We didn't do CVS. However, we still had a problem with our Twin-B. Twin-B had pretty much no fluid around him/her. We were told we would lose the baby within 2 weeks. Well, the baby hang on, but the fluid continued to be a problem. I did a ton of research and consulted the Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome as well as Dr. Julian De Lia (pioneer in treating TTTS). Both of them offered the same advice (they said it can help whether or not it's TTTS):

    1) Drink 3-4 Boost or Ensure High Protein drinks per day. Sip them slowly, a couple of sips here and there.
    2) Spend as much time as possible (all day and night if possible, only getting up for necessities) lying on my right side. (I see you're already on bed rest)

I did this and a week later our Twin-B's sac had greatly improved. We are still having issues with it, but it is getting better now but we were told to wait another 2 weeks (again) before getting too hopeful. My doctors are over 80-90% sure that we do not have TTTS, but I think doing the protein drinks and bed rest helped immensely, if not for the babies, then for my stress level and it helps me to think I was able to do something. We have also had prayers for us, which I believe have also helped immensely.

So you definitely have my thoughts and prayers and my hope that you have a positive resolution.

Thank you for pointing out my error - I meant LEFT side! :)

They have pillows/wedges that help with that. I got one for about $15 at Baby Depot.

    Still praying! :hug99:

You are in my thoughts and prayers. We learned at 19 weeks that our baby b didn't have any fluid either and thought we would lose him. I second Lizzybo's advice. I laid on my left side at all times and drank milkshakes (couldn't handle the taste of Boost). 2 weeks later we were able to see his bladder and all started improving. He ended up being diagnosed with intrauterine growth restriction and they had a possibility of developing TTTS. Try not to do too much research on TTTS until you know if they have one placenta or two. I can give you some great websites if you need them. However, from the sound of things, it may become more of an IUGR issue. Please feel free to PM (private message) me if you want to chat or have any questions on our situation.

Lots of hugs and prayers for you and your daughters!

I am sorry you are going through all of this
Just a quick question, if you had PGD, why did you need the CVS? What did you do PGD for? Or did you have PGS (preimplantation genetic screening, where they only look at chrom. 13, 18, 21?? In any case they should have known the sex of your embryo by then... or did they not text for sex chromosomes?!)
I am just curious because I work in the field (I am a genetic counsellor, and work with PND, PGD etc..).

I hope the issues around your baby resolve and I would follow the ladies' help on here, I have never heard of that but it won't harm you or the baby to drink the shakes in any case!
    Hugs, Millie

Definitely follow Lizzybo's advice and drink those protein drinks, lots of water, and lay on your left side. Fluid issues have been resolved many times with these three things and that's at least something you'll be able to do that help your little one.
