I need to vent to ladies that understand where I am coming from. Don't get me wrong, the ladies I work with are very understand, but they just don't understand totally. I am 31 weeks pregnant with B/G twins. I am still working because I have a desk job, and need all the paid time I can get. I am getting a lot bigger by the minute, my clothes don't fit other than about 3 shirts, and my hubby's clothes. I am uncomfortable, can't breathe, have a stuffed nose, nauseous, I have had an increase in BH contractions over the last couple of days, and it has taken me all day to do one little job that usually only takes an hour.

Well thanks for listening or reading. :D

:hug99: Just a few more weeks and the discomfort will be gone. I think for someone not carrying twins it is hard for them to understand. I never would have thought it was any different than carrying one baby, boy was I wrong. I think it is great you are still working...I couldn't do that now, at 21 weeks. I give much credit to all you ladies who work during all of this. Vent to us as much as you need.

Good for you to keep working.

I don't know what it is like to have one baby inside you, but this twin thing is nuts. I hear you sister. Hang in there!

So sorry to hear about work....I totally understand.
Are you going to just hang in there until you absolutely can't do it any longer or are you going to have a 'cut off' day?
I stopped working at 31 weeks (desk job as well) due to the same reasons! It just got tooo hard to be there & commuting almost an hour each way was totally ridiculous!
good luck & remember to take it easy :)

Tell them how BIG you are measuring (for instance I'm 31 weeks too.. but measure 39) and how many lbs of babies you are carring (for me 7 1/2 lbs). So yeah, you are only 31 weeks, but that means diddly. I'm so tired too now. I get up to take a shower and then need a nap afterwards. These babies are putting on their weight now and since what we eat is being metabolized by them, it's all we can do to have the energy to just do simple things - not to mention working!

you may want to consider cutting back, and soon because you could end up with PTL. The increase in BH could very likely be that, or a warning sign. You need to get much more rest so your babies can get the needed growth in. When you are expending energy, they don't get the calories you are burning. But when you rest as much as possible, they get the calories and can get their necessary weight gains in. A lot of women don't want to quit working - but it's better not to work yourself till they come out... you will have plenty of work to do when they are here. And upaid mom labor is much more rewarding than any other job out there. Yet at 31 weeks they are still considered very premature and can have up to 2 weeks of NICU time. It's not worth it girly!

Thanks everyone for your words of advice. I had originally told my employer that I was going to be done Nov. 30, but have decided to take it day by day for the next week or so.. I am a loan processor and they have recently relocated my office from 4 blocks from my home to a half hour from my home. So the new drive and having to get up earlier, and dealing with new people and new environment is tough to deal with. I am debating trying 1/2 days for a little while and then going on full leave in the next week or soo and then hoping we can make ends meet. We are putting an addition on because of the need of extra room. I wanted to be able to spend Christmas in our own home, but that isnt' going to happen. We will be staying at the in-laws. That has got me bummed, but I can deal with that.

My last day of work is going to be 12/7. I work at a desk job too and travel an hour each way. At work I feel like my symptoms are minimized by co-workers because they think all the doctor visits and tests are excessive ( I had a co-worker tell me today that all of the NST's I have scheduled are excessive and my doctor is trying to bilk the insurance company) and my feet and legs have been swelling terribly...I just think that people do not understand that not only is each pregnancy is different but a twin pregnancy is totally different.

I cant believe that you are still working. You are a very strong woman. I totally respect you. There is no way I would of attempted to work at 31 weeks. I remember at 31 weeks I was going crazy ready to have them b/c I was so uncomfortable.

I'm sorry you have people at work who don't get it. That sucks!

I'm very lucky in that my co-workers and supervisor are all very understanding. I work in sales, so I am on my feet for my whole shift, which is only 5 hours, but still very tiring. My feet are huge at the end of the day. I'm only working until the end of this year, because I'm a seasonal employee, and my contract expires then. Since I'm not due until March 19th, I'm going to be off work for quite a while, with no leave benefits, and I'm sure I'll be going crazy, but hey, it'll be worth it in the end
