I am having unbearable rib pain. It literally feels like my ribs are being pulled apart from the inside out. By the end of the day the aching and burning is so bad I can't find a comfortable position and feel like I can hardly breathe. This coupled with the fact that my entire belly feels like it is gonna split open and the pressure under my sternum building more and more everyday really makes me wonder how I am going to make it. I am only 28 weeks. I do not carry my babies out in front, but have carried my last 2 pregnancies really close to me. The same is happening with this pregnancy as well. Did anyone have this intense pain? What did you do to find relief? Tylenol does nothing and taking the Vicodin is not even worth it because it only takes the edge off for a half hour or so. Any advice would be great-I am desperate :(

I had this rib pain and it was terrible I wanted to die and one of my boys just got higher and higher in my rib cage. It hurts! I know your pain :hug99: It was this way for a while until literally in one day both boys moved head down and have stayed that way and this position has been heaven! Sorry I have no quick fix! Mine was on my right side so if I slept with lots of pillows on my right side I found a little relief, but not much..

I'm sorry for your pain and I don't have any suggestions sorry. I had a different symptom every week so just know it will go away. When you do get some relief try to get as much done as you can because I found towards the end I couldn't do much at all. Bath with no too hot water or check out a pool in your area might help. What about a pregnancy massage ?? I used tylenol with codeine for pain and it helped to let me sleep. Again I wish I had more help for you.

I am having the same problem! It actually hurts so bad today that I cried. And I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I am so miserable with the fact that my ribs feel like they are going to pop right off and I have a pinched nerve in my back. I hate to complain when it took so long for us to get pregnant this last time around. I should just be happy, but it is so hard when I am so miserable and trying to take care of a 3 year old and a 2 year old at the same time.

Hang in there! You are no the only one! I feel your pain.

Oh I so remember that pain. The only thing that would take it away was for me to lay on the side that hurts and tuck a pillow under my rib....it really helped. The bad thing is, is that it doesn't go completely away til after they are born.

The worst part about it their is little to no relief!! Most things can be helped by laying down, bath, etc., but not this. I have a 10 month old too!! I am sure constatnly bending over to pick her up only aggravates it  Good luck and I hope it goes away with time-maybe once our ribs stretch out??

Thanks I am going to try that. I would even be ok with it hurting a little, but the pain I have been feeling is so bad I literally have been having to apply pressure to my rib cage on that side (usually left hurts more than right) the whole time I am standing up!!

I don't think my ribs can stretch anymore! I did take some unisom to help sleep last night. I at least got a little more rest than normal.
