I'm really struggling with the girls' schedule and how to add in lunch. My pedi said to give lunch first and then a small bottle...but do I give it at 11am? Do I give the bottle right after? Should I start reducing the amount in each bottle? When do I drop down to 3 bottles? When do I offer snacks? Here is the current schedule.... When you see a half hour, ie 7-7:30 that means sometime between 7 and 7:30.

    7-7:30 6.5oz bottle
    8-8:30 cereal and fruit
    9-11 nap
    11-11:30 6.5oz bottle
    1-3 nap
    3-3:30 6.5oz bottle
    5:15 fruit and veggies
    6:30 6.5oz bottle then bed

    Thanks for your help!

I would start trying to do lunch some time between 11 and 12. Maybe give them a smaller bottle at 11, and then try lunch a half hour or hour later.

We dropped down to three bottles around 9 months, and the first one we dropped was the nighttime bottle. They just didn't really need it anymore once they were eating solids/tablefood well for dinner.

We didn't really offer snacks until they were close to done with bottles as meals and eating three solid meals, probably around 10 or 11 months.

    Hope that helps :)

I just added lunch this week. Here is our schedule

    7:00 - bottle
    8:00 - breakfast
    9:00 - nap
    11:00 - bottle
    12:00 - lunch
    1:00 - nap
    3:00 - bottle
    4:00 - dinner
anywhere between 6:15 and 6:30 - last bottle
7:00 - In crib and HOPEFULLY asleep

Gosh - looking at it I can see why I am having trouble getting out of the house! We just had our 9 month appt. and our pedi said not to drop down to 3 bottles yet. I guess we will do it at 12 months when we start the transition to whole milk.

Oh - and all these times can vary by about 1/2 hour (except bedtime) depending on if they take a really long nap or something.

Our schedule looks a lot like Hillybean's except I am nursing instead of bottles. I agree that it is so hard to get out of the house without advanced planning!

It looks like the perfect time to add in a lunch meal woul be 12-12:30.

I too thought the lunch should be added around noon but why is my pedi suggesting I give lunch first and then a small bottle afterwards?
