ok so my kids get all sorts of food. i am just running out of ideas. for breakfast i give them bagels, cheerios and fruit, eggs hash browns sausage ham, oatmeal, waffles, french toast,

lunch and dinner chicken nuggets, veggies, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pasta, gerber raviolis, hot dogs, beans, hamburger, chicken (but they only seem to like it in the nugget form is that ok or should i keep trying reg. chicken, pizza once in a while

they dont seem to like fish sticks. i give it to them and they want to throw it away.

what foods do you give your kids? breakfast is easy but lunch and dinner i am unsure of varieties. i feel like i am giving them the same old stuff.

One idea I had to get more protein in their diet was to cook regular mac n cheese but then mix canned white meat chicken into it. They loved it. OTher than that I'll be watching your post for ideas!

Compared to what my girls eat, that sounds like an excellent variety of things.

I usually give them their favorites, but always offer them some of what I'm having (if it's different that day). My girls love rotisserie chicken.

    That's a great idea!

I was/am in the same boat as you. A friend suggested veggie burgers and they are really yummy. I try to give mine whatever we're having (within reason). Last night, we had a zucchine and tomato rice casserole. They also love yogurt and cottage cheese, fresh fruit (especially watermelon). I do the canned yams (sweetened) if I don't have time to make a fresh one. Sometimes putting a bit of ketchup on their plate makes everything taste better....

Yeah, that's all I got. Like I said, same boat over here....

sounds like a lot of variety to me! compared to what j and b eat.

the interesting thing is the kids seem to eat more variety for the nanny! So they have a great lunch and their dinner is so-so.

Mine eat roasted chicken, chicken salad, turkey burgers, mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, hash brown casserole, meatloaf, pork tenderloin and deli meat.
Veggies: broccoli, grean beans, peas, carrots, corn
Fruit: J will eat any kind....N is a little more picky
Breakfast items: blueberry or raisin bread with peanut butter, scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, banana, cantaloupe, mandarin oranges, cereals

I know they eat more but, I can not think of them off the top of my head.

I'm reading this as we are eating dinner! We are having boneless, marinated pork chops, mashed potatoes and peas. The girls are gobbling it up! We also do rotisserie turkey breast, chicken breast (baked), deli meat, mac&cheese, sweet potato french fries, baked potatoes, rice (messy!), etc.. oh and lots of fresh fruit. HTH

I was just about to post this same exact topic. I am also running out of ideas and feel like mine eat the same things all the time. Mine love soups and they are really a great way to get protiens and veggies in them. Mine also have a dairy sensitivity so we are limited to a small amount of cheese and no other dairy or eggs. But here are our meals:

    Breakfast:
Fresh fruit, pretty much anything (bananas, peaches, plums, blueberries, cantaloupe)
Blueberry mini muffins ( I just buy a mix and bake them up real quick)
Pancakes usually with some kind of puree in them
    Waffles
    French toast sticks
    Cereal (cheerios, crispix, kix)

Lunch (here's where we get limited)
    Fruit
grilled ham and cheese or turkey and cheese
vegetarian vegetable soup with oyster crackers
Italian wedding soup (with the little meatballs)
    chicken nuggets
tater tots (I know probably not real healthy)
pizza (I make them little mini pizzas)

Dinner is pretty much the same unless I'm making something they can eat.
They like meatballs with my homemade sauce
Certain chicken if it is marinated in something (they have lost their love for any kind of chicken)
    roasted potatoes
    soup
sometimes greenbeans ( I have a really hard time getting mine to eat veggies)

I want to hear some more lunch and dinner ideas!! :)

I struggle with this same issue. Everyone tells me that my kids eat such a variety, but everytime we go shopping I buy the same things over and over again.
Some things that are life savors for me:

-Pancakes (we put everything in them from sweet potatoes, to grated apple, bananas, a variety of spices, yogart, flaxseed, etc.) We make a huge batch on Saturdays and freeze them in twos as quick snakes or breakfasts for the week.
-Meatloaf (laced with onions, celery, whole grain bread, etc.) Top it with a little ketchup and brown sugar and my kids love it!
-Turkey burgers (laced with zucchini, mushrooms, and whatever else I can find) My kids and husband love them!
-Smoothies are a big hit here too. For example this morning we had one with: mango, pineapple, banana, yogart, and wheat germ. They loved it! We usually do whatever kind of fruit is in season, mixed with yogart, and flaxseed, wheat germ or something else healthy.

    Hope this helps!
I too will be watching this post for additional ideas!

Just as an add on - mine LOVE black beans. If you don't want the mess you can rinse them first - but they GOBBLE them up.

Mine like hummus....I let them use pretzel sticks to dip it.
Egg beater omellettes with cut up very tiny veggies and cheese.
    grits
    yogurt of any flavor
Peanut butter - either thinly spread on bread or they use pretzel sticks again
mashed sweet potatoes with a little cinamon and butter
    black eye peas

These are just a few different things I didn't think were already mentioned.
