Garrett and Grant will not stop spitting up. I feel like they should be done with this right now. The doctor said that their tummies might be too full but when they wake up in the morning they eat a 6 ounce bottle and then an hour later they are spitting up ALOT. this is after a 12 hour break at night

Can you give me some ideas on what you did at 7 motnsh feeding wise?

i looked at the schedules page but no one really stated how much formula and food they gave at each feeding. I DESPERATELY Need some help. i would like to know how much you feed at each feeding and when.

    THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Sorry you are having such a tought time with reflux. :hug99: My guys were eating about 2 cups of cereal in the morning (that's in one bowl, together ;) ), lunchtime we had just started with a light snack type lunch, usually puffs and wagon wheels and some things like yogurt. And at dinner we were using Stage 1-2 foods, a whole jar each. My guys were big eaters though. My guys also still we spitting up A LOT at 7 months. We just kept them on the Zantac and eventually it passed, recently too. Patrick stopped about 10 months and Kev is still having a little trouble.

If you are really concerned, maybe you could talk to your pedi about getting a referral to a specialist. :hug99: PM me if you need to talk more about it. :)

thank you. We are going to see the pedi on tuesday. it is just so frusturating. it doesn't matter how much foood i give them, they spit and throw up all the time. i have to change my shirts all the time and shout is one of my best friend since they love to spit up their carrots. :)

at their 6 months the doctor wouldn't do anything since they were still growing. they didn't even gain a pound from their 4 months appointment. They weighed the same at their 4 month as Gavin did and then at 6 months gavin weighed 2 pounds more.

thank you. how many ounces of formula did you give?

Hi! This is what my girls (with little appetites and lots of reflux) were eating around 7 months:

    6:45 7 oz. bottle
7:30 3 tbsp. oatmeal with 1 tub stage 2 fruit
    12:00 7 oz. bottle
    12:30 1 tub stage 2 fruit and 1 tub stage 2 veggie
    4:00 6 oz. bottle
4:30 2 jars stage 2 chicken and apples
    6:00 4 oz. bottle
    6:30 bed

The bottle amounts are what each would eat. The solid amount is the total of what they would share. I would use one bowl/one spoon and feed them both. I hope this helps you!!

What about doing the solids first and then the bottle? That may help keep things down????

I am sorry you are having suck a tough time!! I am glad you are doing to the pediatrician. Hopefully you will get some good answers and a solution! My DS is on prevacid, which has REALLY helped us with reflux!

    Here is what we do:

    6am - wake and bottle
    10am - bottle/fruit and cereal
2pm - bottle (we just started to add a veggie here too!)
    6pm - bottle/veggie and protein
    10ish - dream feed

They share a fruit in the morning and now they are almost eating their own jar of veggies in the day.

    good luck!!

Reflux is miserable. We are still spitting up at 1 year!! I don't think it's ever going to end! (You probably didn't want to hear that, did you?) I will say, though, that it was at it's worst, between 6-8 months. Jake was like a fountain. Maybe feed them smaller amounts more often? :hug99: s, I'm sorry, I do know how frustrating it is.

:hug99: We don't really have a "schedule" so I haven't posted on the schedule sticky, but this is what they are eating:

Natalie - 6X/day (still getting up about 4 am), Hannah 5X/day. They each get nursed 2 or 3x/day (they nurse individually, not tandem) if they are not nursed the bottle is 6 oz. We are still just doing 1 solid meal/day - splitting a stage 2 fruit or veggie (i think they are 4 oz). I've been thinking it was time to increase their solids but w/ my 3 yr old I'm having a hard time working it in!!

Also - wanted to let you know my older DD only gained 12 oz from her 4 mos to her 6 mos checkup & dropped from 50% weight to 20%. She was nursing on demand & having more solids than N&H. Iwas worried about her but the pedi wasnt...

    HTH!

I try to feed cereal before I nurse them in the morning. The thickness helps Ellie to keep down her breastmilk. She has a little refux that is worse in the morning. I honestly think she still has a little milk in there from the night before that wants to come up. With creal it keeps that down plus whatever she nurses.

Hope things get better. Six ounces is about right for that age so I don't think you are overfeeding them.

At 7 months our girls were getting four 6 ounce bottles a day. They were getting solids twice a day - breakfast and lunch.

To figure out how many ounces they need a day ask your ped what they should be drinking and divide that by the number of feedings you give. When I moved to 3 feedings I just upped the ounces.

Good luck - I am sorry that they are still spitting up so much. If it makes you feel any better Mia just magically stopped at about 9 months.
