ok every day from 5-8 my babies are evil I sware they are....but I don't quite understand what to do.....I'm the only one that can calm them but the only way I can is the cradle hold but how the heck do you hold two babies in the craddle hold at the same time????? It's impossible but no one else can make them happy. I feel so bad....and today is going to be worse they are getting their first shots and I'm do dreading this......how do you guys cook supper....the only way I can almost get supper done is to put Jacob in the snuggli and Mekaila on my his and sing and dance around the kitchen while attemping to cook. Does it ever get easier?

Yes, it does get easier. I remember the same problem, we seemed to only get dinner if there was an extra pair of hands in the house, like my mom or my mother-in-law. My boy girl twins are now a little over 4 months old (I also have a 5 year old son) and we actually are able to make dinner some nights, not all, but quite a few and that is a big improvement from just eating whatever we cold grab from the cabinet and eat in a few seconds.....:)

If it helps, (I hope it is the same for you) but my two always slept better on the nights that they had their shots. My ped. always suggests keeing a 4 hour schedule with tylenol for a day too. I hope you get some sleep!

*hugs* it will get better. Is there anyway with meals, you could cook when someone else is around, then freeze stuff, that way when it is time to heat you just have to heat it all up. Good luck with the shots.

For the first few months we did a lot of frozen foods, that we could just throw in the oven. we stocked our freezer and would just eat that stuff, it wasn't the best tasting, but it was food and we weren't spending as much as you would for always ordering take out. It does get easier as they get older and when they don't cry during the evening witching hour! Hang in there - you are getting close to the time when it does start to get easier. Big hugs to you : )

I hope you all are right I hope they sleep good tonight and I pray these aweful afternoons are getting close to an end....and there really is never anyone around to help while I cook stuff ahead of time just me and DH and since the babies he I guess is nervous so he finds tons of stuff to piddle with outside in the shop and around the house......but maybe I can try to get more stuff done while they nap on the weekends....I'm not really sure what kinds of stuff to cook and freeze but I'll try it.

How much tylenol do you give at 2 months?

Welcome to the witching hour! For us it started around 4:30-5pm and lasted until 10pm. It does get better. I agree w/ PP frozen foods or pre-made foods are the easiest. Dinner time was the worst. GL!

Oh the witching hour or hours. I am sorry you have to go through that, we went through the same thing. During this time, we did order out a lot or made dinner in a bag.
    It will get better!
At 2 months, I gave them Tylenol up to the .04 line on the dropper. I recommend giving them a dose of Tylenol before the shots (like 30 min before the appointment) and have bottles ready to give as soon you can after the shots are over. Ours slept great after their 2 month shots, I hope you have the same experience!

Good luck!!! The witching hour does end!

It will absolutely get easier. And don't worry about cooking, you are already super woman without whipping up a big meal! :)

Our girls were colicky for the first 3.5 months (I never believed anyone that said it would go away). Every night from 4pm until bedtime it was nonstop crying!!! One of the things we would do is go for a LONG walk...it usually would calm them down for a while and they would even nap. It would continue while when we got home, but at least it was peaceful for a bit. They are still fussy in the evenings, but far more manageable.

As for dinner, I try to make something during the day (if they are napping together) and just eat whenever we can...I never thought we would be able to sit to eat, and even these days we have to wait until they sleep...or if they are cat napping in the early evening, we quickly eat something...rely on anything ready to eat, delivery, anything.

Hang in there--it does get better...:)

Sounds like my Kaylen. I had to hold her standing...no sitting allowed. Quite helped too. Sorry that there isn't much you can do...you can do it though!!!

I can't prepair stuff during the day cause I'm at work but I'm about to not care about cooking it's time for DH To learn.....LOL I'm really dreading their shots today cause I have to take them alone so I'm going to have to consol 2 babies alone........taking them for a walk helps me too.
