I'd like to get the boys some sandals, but I'm having a hard time finding something I like. I'm weary of the little cheapy sandals that are mostly plastic- afraid they'll end up w/ blisters on their sensitive feet. I've thought about crocs, but I've even had a pair give me blisters too. I did consider doing crocs w/ socks-- but that just seemed to be a fashion flub! Any suggestions?

I just got these for Trevor last week at Target. He has already worn them a few times since we have been in the 90's the past 2 days. He usually lives in flipflops in the summer, but I like for him to have a sandal type shoe as well. :good:

I would check out stride rite if you want really good quality but we love the sandals from Target. They were 2 for 20$ last week and I got a pair for Aly and Jake and they seem to be comfy in them. GL!

Check out Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls, we got Royce a pair of Teva slip on sandals for $6.99.

My guys are a bit younger than yours, but we bought THESE from Old Navy for the boys. They love "'tomping" around in them! :)

I'm a sucker for shoes and am willing to pay more for great ones. Plus, we generally only have one set of baby shoes at a time. So I was willing to spend $40 a piece for Keens from Zappos.com. I splurged and got a matching set for me. Very highly reviewed and fit great!

    Check Keens out!

I love Teva Psyclones. They're so easy to put on & take off, they seem comfy, and they're not too expensive. I was very bummed when A&S decided not to wear them anymore (not even in pink  ).

I took them to a shoe store last spring and they tried on some Keens, but neither kid seemed to like them. I've never really worn them, but I'm not a huge fan either -- they just look clunky to me.

We do also have Crocs, but they're no good for playgrounds, and I'm always worried they're going to fall off when the kids are running.

I like the keens too. My ds has a pair and loves them. I like that his toes are protected in them. My dd didn't like them, so she has Teva's, which i also like. they are a bit more expensive, but are great quality and can take a beating.

We love keen sandals here, my DS wore them everyday last summer with very little wear.
If you kids have any issues with being sensitve to debris getting in a sandal, I hightly recommend these

I guess we're in the minority here. Our DS wears Crocs and has never had any problems. (Knock on wood!) ;)

DS has the Teva's, too. I love them. Easy on/off, dry quickly, and they work with wider width feet. Unfortunately, I didn't pay 6.99 for mine, but they are still worth every penny (and are cheaper than Stride-Rite, our other shoes of choice since DS is a wide width). His sandals the year before were leather Stride Rites and they made his feet smell f-o-u-l. The leather combined with his warm-blooded sweatiness was NOT a good combination, apparently. :bad: We've had no stink issues w/ the Teva's.

I have to get my DS his summer sandals this year but last year, we had a pair of Carter's summer sandals that worked awesome for him (they had sharks and them and glowed in the dark)...I did get them from the Carter's outlet. He wore them all summer with no problems.

The little boy that I watch had these last summer and they were very easy for me to get on him and take off and he seemed very comfortable in them. I thought they were cute too.

My kids wear crocs and flip flops a lot. We just got these Osh Kosh ones recently at BJ's for 12.99 a pair. The kids were all wearing them running around on Easter and were quite comfortable. We've also had the target ones in the past that were linked in an earlier post and the boys were comfortable in those, too.

We also have the Old Navy ones that a previous poster linked to. I love them because they're easy to get on/off (the boys do them by themselves, actually) & the toes are covered. My boys are already flip flop lovers, but I don't allow flippies at the park or for long walks or anything. That's why we got the nicer sandals. They've worn them about 5 times thus far (it's only 30 here today :( !) but they seem to like them. They run kinda off in size, though, so beware if you order online. Our actual store had plenty, so we were able to try them on. Last summer we had velcro sandals from Carters that worked good but they scuffed up their toes a few times, so I bought something very similar to these (same brand, different style...I'm not a huge fan of this year's style). I like the Old Navy ones I found this year better b/c they're cheaper AND they're more lightweight/allow more air movement.

Good luck! I had a hard time sandal AND shoe shopping this year! Not much out there I liked that I was willing to spend....

hahah, those were last year's sandals for Royce! As soon as you said "shark". At least once a week I have to go, "No Royce, you can't wear the sharks, your feet are too big for them." I really need to go through their shoes soon.

This is what I just got my two, too. They've been wearing them every day and they're wicked cute and no one's complained about them hurting their feet, yet. And Natalie complains about a lot of shoes. I also got them a size up to last the summer, but they're working now, too.

Does anyone find a difference between covered toes and not? Last year my boys were 14-17ish months during summer and I thought it was very important to have covered toes to help from falling. I like those teva ones and have looked at them for this year but for some reason I seem to think that a covered toe will help with falling more....I don't know if mine fall more than other just turned 2 year olds but sometimes it seems like they must! I'd love some keens but hate to spend that much on 2 pairs for just a couple months of use....we live in Alaska (but are travling out of state at least twice this summer) but I love sandles and not putting socks on is so nice!

    Thanks

I like a covered toe for when they are running around, riding their bikes, etc. My kids aren't allowed to ride their bikes wearing flip flops, I'm just too nervous about them getting injured.

Another vote for Keens -- all three of my kids have them for this spring/summer. I ordered Nadia's on Zappos, but I got BOGO half off at Stride Rite for K&K.

They're really sturdy, waterproof, and I love the covered toe. Karina has complained a little about sand in her shoes on the playground, but I think they'll be great for vacation this summer. I'm considering a pair for myself!

We just got the Old Navy sandals that others have mentioned too. They're very cute and a good price for $14.99. Will try them on tomorrow and see what the kids think.

I just picked up a couple of pairs of polliwalks and the girls loved them. They are super easy to clean and super easy for the girls to just slip on...and they have some really cute animal faces on them and come in all different colors. I got them onsale and our local outdoors shop for about 15.00 a piece, but they will totally last the whole summer. The girls went nuts over them and wear them everyday.
