I've been wanting to buy the girls a climbing structure for the house but I don't know what to get. I was thinking about the Step 2 Kangaroo Climber, but i have some concerns about it. Is it easy to climb on? What is are toddlers able to get on and slid down? I not sure if I want to spend this kind of money on something if they can't use it. Then I saw this and thought that might be easier for them to climb on. But I'm afraid its to big for the house. I was also thinking about the Little Tikes climb and slide castle, but I'm afraid they're grow out of that to quickly.

What do you all have? What do you like and dislike about it? TIA

We were given a Kangaroo climber last summer when mine were about 20 months and they were almost too old for it at that point. They still play on it a little, but it's not very exciting for them. They prefer to just climb on our big swingset now. I think it would be perfect for your girls b/c they will be able to use it longer.

We got the kangaroo climber when my older DD was about 14 months and she played with it a fair bit but lost interest at about 2- it was in the yard and we got a swing set. After we moved I brought it into the playroom and she rediscovered it. Now the twins are climbing all over it (and falling off occassionally ;) ) My little ones climb up the slide and today I watched DD pull herself up on the platform. My older DD uses it as a fort or for jumping off now. In the summer we found it was great fun to put a small inflatable wading pool underneath the slide. Older DD spent hours sliding into the water.

We got the Kangaroo Climber last August when my twins were 18 months, and it took them awhile to figure how to climb up, but they loved to slide down. They still play on it now at 28 months. We were going to move it inside for the winter, but we ended up still playing on it outside in the cold and the snow. I think they'd be happier with something bigger at this point, but we're just going to wait another year and then get a big wooden swingset/climber.

Definately check Craigslist and Ebay (do an advanced search by zip code, since most people won't ship the big climbers) and you may be able to find something used for a lot less money than new.

Thank you all for your responses. Sounds like the Kangaroo Climber is everyones choice. I was going to buy this for the girl's birthday but at the last minute changed my mind, I guess I should of gotten it. Well, now they're going to get it just because. :) I checkout out ebay and craigslist and I haven't found anything close. But I did find a Little Tikes cube gym, thats a lot like the Kangaroo Climber, that can be shipped. I think I'm going to look into that. I like the cheaper price tag :)

We've got an older verison of the Kangaroo Climber in our house - I think we bought it when our eldest was around 14 mo old. She's 3 1/4 now and still uses it and now the twins are starting to use it (1 year). We bought a larger used swingset/climber for the back yard last year, but this still has lots of play value.

I'd see what you can find used - they're lots of them around.
