So I have read to only give your kiddos egg yokes until 1 years old. Well, what about the bread you buy? Doesn't that have whole eggs in it? The reason I ask is I want to make pancakes for my kiddos, but am not sure about if I use the whole egg or not. If you have have a good pancake recipe for finger foods, I'd appreciate it!
    Thanks!

I have given regular bread, pancakes, waffles, all with eggs in them with no problem. When I made scrambled eggs for them, I just made the yolks...they weren't a fav. :bad:

It is O.K. in recipies - it is just the egg white by itself you should worry about

I am not sure if there is egg in the powder - but my DH makes pancakes with the Aunt Jemima mix that you just have to add water to. I think it is called Aunt Jemima Complete. The girls love them.

We just always used the whole egg, with all 3 of our kids. We weren't told otherwise.

What is it that is bad in the white part?

I gave them stuff with egg whites prior to 12 months, no problems here (we have no food allergies in our families).

I made the girls things with egg whites and they've been fine. I also started to give them whole scrambled eggs starting at 10 months and they havn't had any problems.

Funny timing on that question. I gave up and gave mine whole scrambled eggs this morning since I'm tired of making adjustments. They were fine. My older one had to wait the year but since we have no food allergies in the family and no trouble with Caitlin I just figured oh well. :)

My ped. said it was fine as long as it is in other things. He suggested not scrambling up an egg for them.
