We currently have a Combi twin SBS, and I've liked it. It's light weight, fits in the trunk well, and does the job. But I don't know if it's just getting old, if the boys are getting too big, but it's just becoming more difficult to push, and now when I take them shopping, it makes it harder to keep them from pulling on things, grabbing stuff off of shelves, etc... So I think I'd like a tandem. I've eyed the Graco Quattro duo, but I wonder if it's geared too much towards an older kid and a younger one?

So I know there is absolutely no such thing as the perfect double stroller, but sell me on yours if you like it!

    THANKS!

Ugh. Give me a month and I'll give you my quattro duo. You'd hate it. I am in the process of phasing it out (as soon as we outgrow our infant seats and I decide on our second stroller). I also have a duo glider that I don't like... where are you again?

I have a Kolcraft Contours Options stroller... I like it but I also think the quality of the stroller itself is kind of cheap. We've had ours for about 7 months. The handle doesn't lock easily into place anymore, causing me to flail the stroller all over the parking lot trying to get the spring to engage so the handle & stroller will lock into place. Several of the plastic parts have cracked or broken, too. I guess I'd just suggest that if you DO get one, make sure you get a warranty, too! :)

    Things I do like:

    - Versatile seating options
    - Tandem is better than side by side for getting into smaller spots (I think, anyway!)
    - Decent handling, given the price (about $200)
    - Nice big sun shades

    Good luck!!!

I personally liked my tandem Graco Duoglider much more than I like my SBS Chicco Citta. My Duoglider did not have a 5 point harness though, so once my DD's started regularly climbing out of it I sold it and got the Chicco Citta SBS. The Chicco is lightweight, folds up very small, and is okay, but I think that the tandem Duogider was much better for shopping, which is the only thing I really use the stroller for. The SBS does not fit through aisles or doors well at all. The Duoglider did much better.

I also have a SBS jogging stroller that we use exclusively outdoors, and I love that thing. But it's way too big and bulky to make it my errand stroller.

Thankfully I think my indoor stroller days are mostly behind me.

Ok, so I'm cheap. I got a Graco Duoglider for my shower and loved it! I never had a problem Then, my car caught on fire with the stroller in the trunk. Because of money issues, I just bought a used Graco. That one, I hated. It tended to drift. But, it was pretty old. As soon as I saved up the money, I bought myself a new Duoglider. I rarely use it anymore since the kids are so big (only when there is a LOT of walking to do), but I still love it. I've taken it shopping in very close quarters and even to Washington DC on vacation. It is affordable and gets the job done and done well.

Yikes, well that certainly doesn't sound good... If you don't mind sharing, what do you dislike so much about it? (And we're in Alabama... not exactly close! but thanks for the offer!!!)

Leighann- how easy is the Jane to fold/unfold/get in and out of the car?

My MIL has a duoglider, and I just feel like it's about to break if I have to get it up over a curb or something, and it's so terribly long! Which is also the reason I'm apprehensive about the Contours, though that may be my current runner up. That's frustrating to hear that it's cheaply made though! Arg. I get so jealous of singleton strollers!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyone else?

Its very easy to unfold, and fairly easy to fold. Its heavy though, but your mommy arms should be able to handle it! Its about 30lbs, but I'm a small person and I'm still able to haul it in and out of my station wagon easily.

One thing that was important for us was to be able to take a walk outside with it and have it fit into stores too. We live up a hill from a quaint little town and I wanted to be able to take the girls down to the town and shopping easily. I don't run with it, but the front wheel does lock into position so you can run with it.

Downsides are it has a small basket underneath (I'm jealous of how roomy the duo glider's basket is), and there are no snack trays for the kiddos and no parent tray. We bought ours second hand off of craigs list for about $200 cheaper than list price and it was in PERFECT condition! So you may want to shop around... GL!

We have the Kolcraft Contour. I like it so far except that my DH broke the beverage holder off because he was trying to force it closed more then it should. I get TONS of compliments on how neat it is (not that that is a reason to buy it). I like that I can face the seats out, in or toward each other. The basket is a nice size. The shades arent great but there aren't many tandems that have great shades IMO. It steer relatively easy but is big. I feel like I am driving a caboose! I seriously don't think there is a perfect double stroller out there. All have there goods and bads, you just have to find which is best for you and best in certain situations.

I've owned too many strollers but my favorite was the Duoglider. It's not a high end stroller but it was by far the most versatile. My Maclaren sbs felt extremely sturdy but there are just so many downsides to a sbs, as you have discovered.

I sold my sbs after a year so I could get a jogger, which I loved. But, like a pp mentioned, it was too big to be an errand stroller. So, my go to stroller until 3.5 years was my Duoglider. That baby went with us on many plane rides, road trips, and was in and out of the car multiple times everyday for those 3 years. Other than the fact that the buttons on the back of the storage basket broke (which didn't affect it's function) it worked well. It really was a workhorse and the best value you can buy in twin strollers.
