Hi, i am 33 weeks now, and missing out on sleep. I have had pregnancy insomnia for about 6 weeks now. My OBGYN gaveme ativan to help, but i cannot take it everyday. Nor do i want to. Sometimes it helps but not often. Now aswell as my brain not turning off...i am getting so big that my ribcage kills at night when i lay down. i think there is a baby butt in the way. And I can't get comfy and I'm just plain miserable at night. I don't want o keep my DH up, so i go to the spare bed and toss and turn! I am not sure there is anything I can do, but ladies if you have any suggestions, please let me know how you are making it thru these last few weeks!!!! (Ps thanks for letting me vent)

[IMG]I'm sorry! I had the insomnia throughout the whole pregnancy, and at the end it's just miserable trying to get comfortable, because you can't!! [IMG]s, you are doing great, almost there, and it will feel sooooo good when you can sleep(or lay down anyway!) without that big belly getting in the way! [IMG]

I deal with insomnia on and off, too -- it's the worst.

These days, I've found that I sleep better if I'm in a semi-sitting position, because lying down is so rough on the hips! I toss and turn when I'm lying down, too.

But, lately I've been folding my J-pillow in half, and putting it at one end of the couch....and then lying back on it. If I roll to one side, I put a small couch pillow under my belly to support it. I'm actually getting 3 to 4-hour stretches of sleep this way -- before I have to get up and pee anyway.

Or, do you have a glider rocker that reclines? As my pregnancy progesses, I'm going to try that, too....I slept in it many a night when my daughter was a newborn!

I'm 34 weeks, and I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep. I wake up every hour, turning over is super painful, I have to pee all the time, I get heartburn...the list goes on and on! I know how you feel! Sleep medication didn't help me either---just left me feeling groggy the next day. I think these last few weeks being comfortable is just wishful thinking!!

I invested in a recliner for those very reasons! I slept in in from 20
weeks on!! I still love the thing! it is great to sleep in and to feed babies in!!

Sleep is a distant memory for me too!! I am just so uncomfortable!! At least I know I am not alone when I am staring at the walls all night.
