I just realized how stupid I've been.
It's so funny. I was watching American Idol and Matt (the last guy to sing) sang So Small by Carrie Underwood. One of the lyrics says "that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand" and for some reason it made me realize that my babies are almost a month old now and I've managed to miss so much of it. I've been so caught up in how hard this has all been, how tired I am and how much I've given up that I've failed to realize just how much I've gained. For some reason I forgot why I wanted to be a mom. Now, all of a sudden, I remember. It's not the crying, reflux, dirty diapers and 3 hour feeding that matter. It's seeing Kayleigh follow her mobile with her eyes for the first time and seeing Rhy's reflexive smile when I touch his cheek with my finger and them cuddled up together in their crib peacefully asleep.
It's nice to remember that those are the things that really matter.

Aww ... so true.
But I know what you mean. THe first month or so I felt like I was totally in survival mode, and its only in the past several weeks that I've started to be able to enjoy them. (And I'd had baby fever bad for 2 years before we started ttc! ... But in those dreams I always imagined a peaceful scene involving me with just one infant. ;))

That is so true. The first month flies by while you get used to the chaos. It really does just keep getting better!

It is crazy how fast time flies, isn't it? My babies were 3 weeks old yesterday, it was also their due date, and in some weird way I feel like their babyhood is rushing by already, because now they are closer to one month than to being measured only in days or weeks old. Even when you try to cherish every moment it still flies by!

Enjoy every moment. It all does go by so fast and next thing you know they aren't babies anymore. Congrats on 1 month!
