So I wanted to get the girls beds for their 3rd birthday in June, naturally I was thinking twin beds since they share a room. I figured it was going to cost us between $1200 - $1500 for beds, mattress, bedding, etc. Which is a lot more then we can really afford right now. My mom got a pass to the employee store for a major retailer she used to work for and found two full size beds that normally run $550 each for $150 each! I told her to get them figuring I's still be saving money even if I now have to buy full size mattresses and bedding. Obviously they are going to take up more space but they will fit in the room but not next to each other like the twin beds would. The beds will have to be in opposite corners of the room. I'm worried that this is going to introduce the problem of the girls getting out of bed and bugging each other if they are not next to each other. We just switched to toddler beds in December and had a few challenges trying to keep them in bed.

I'm considering trying to resell them at a higher price and make a little money off them then put that toward twin beds to avoid that problem and to keep the room from being too crowded.

I'd love some advice on if people think this is going to be a problem.

    TIA!

I would probably try to sell them and get what I really wanted. Do you plan on keeping them in the same room for long? If not then keep the beds. I bought twin beds for mine and looking back I wished I had gotten full sized. We have nowhere to put anyone when they have sleepovers!

I just wanted to add that there's really no way I can configure the full size beds without putting them dangerously close to windows and the bedroom is on the second floor. But I could always secure the windows somehow...

To answer your question Jellybeans, we have considered eventually switching our bedroom for theirs, which is huge, there would be plenty on room for 2 full size beds. But since we can't afford to renovate the rooms for that, it won't happen for a long time.

Congrats on the great deal! I would see about selling them as well, especially if you are afraid of their safety. You can always do what we did. We just bought the mattresses and swindle the store into giving us the frame (only costs about $50) and made a headboard from big pillows. Super cute and CHEAP! We also had a problem with the girls getting out of the bed to lay with each other, so we just pushed the beds together so they are near each other.

Would your girls sleep together? What about setting up one of the full beds in their bedroom for now and they can sleep together in one bed? Store the other bed until you're ready to switch bedrooms. This way, also, you'll only have to buy one mattress set and half the bedding for now, and worry about the rest later.
