So, Jack is still protesting naps but he does the funniest thing...(I watch him on the video monitor).

He repeatedly falls asleep standing up. He rests his head on his lovey which he rests on the crib rail and drifts in and out. Of course he can only stay asleep this way for about 2 minutes at a time. No matter how tired he is he refuses to sit or lie down in his bed. He does not play or talk to himself or even really move out of his one spot in the corner of his crib. If he falls asleep standing up he will wake suddenly, jerk his head up, shake his head no quite vehmenently (sp?), and stand there until he does it again.

    Such determination and perserverance...scary!

You need to video this and put it on You Tube! I would love to see this guy in action. :rotflmbo: What do you think he'd do if you put the crib mattress on the floor so he had to rail to lean against?

This might sound nuts, but have you tried explaining to him that he needs a nap? I know that he says no more naps, so he understands a bit about what is going on.

Here is why I say this: Three weeks ago the girls finally dropped their 2nd nap of the day, but this meant they would neep to nap at the sitter's house, something they have never done before. The first week was terrible and they refused to sleep. But then at the beginning of the second week I sat them down and explained to them that they needed to nap at W's house. "When W says its sleepy time you need to nap and sleep for a little so you can play the rest of the day." DH laughed and said "Yeah good luck with that!" But guess what? After lunch, W said its sleepy time and they both said "OK nap time" and went and laid down and slept! They've been doing it ever since! Totally crazy, but I guess they are getting to an age where they really understand.

If you've already tried it and it hasn't worked I'm so sorry. Maybe if you put some soothing music on in his room?
