Last week I thought it would be nice to give them blankets and pillows as they have graduated to beds. But now, if they roll over, the blankets roll off of them and we have the occasional night waker that wants his blankies put back on. Does anyone have a good solution for this? I thought about a sleeping bag, but we live in FL and it is starting to get stank hot here.

    Thanks.

I would give it some more time before you panic. When Amy started sleeping under her covers, we had about a week of multiple requests for us to fix her blanket every time she would disarrange it somehow. Finally I told her that I would fix it one more time after bedtime and after that she was on her own. She still gripes about it a bit sometimes, but on the whole, she's magically developed the ability to fix her own covers. ;)

Yours are a bit younger, so I don't know if that logic will quite work. But if you don't want to be running in to fix blankets all night long, you'll find a way to make this clear to them, and they will deal.

If you want to give up on the blankets completely, you might try a lightweight sleep sack.

Would tucking it under the mattress be an option? :pardon: No idea since mine will be in cribs until college. ;)

Rachel, I had to "cozy" the kids SO MUCH in the early goings (well, it lasted quite a long time!). Put them in long sleeve PJ's and pants and put a sheet over them. They might be so hot that they won't need to be re-cozied?

This was a HUGE issue for me. They do make toddler sized sleep sacks that Trish kept telling me about - you could do that - but I imagine it's going to get too hot pretty soon!

Waking up in the middle of the night to cover them back up about drove my husband and I bananas. We still have to occasionally do it with Sarah, but not so much Allison. We just started praising them for being such big girls and covering themselves up, but honestly, we're still trying to work through this. Some nights it is worse than others and we have tried everything. Allison seems to really like the praises and being a "big girl" and covering herself up and she is doing that more often. Sarah, on the other hand, could care less, and wants us to cover her up at all times, so we still haven't found the magic formula with her.

Yeah, I would try tucking them in and see how that goes. If not... hmm... I don't know... my guys have always seemed to either keep theirs on or not fuss when they come off.

we've been dealing with this with cameron since we moved to toddler beds in february - it drives us NUTS! the past week has actually been pretty good - i usually wake in the middle of the night to pee, so after i go to the bathroom i make sure to go into their room and cover cam back up (i also tuck him in again before i go to bed) - so far, so good this week - no idea if it will continue! they did great when we were on vacation in twin beds - i think because they were tightly tucked in with a sheet. i keep saying i need to buy toddler sheets for their beds but haven't done it yet . . .

I will try a longer blanket that I can tuck in. I was hoping it would be a short-lived issue, but apparently that may not be the case. Thanks for all of your suggestions and feedback.
