Here is the deal. Long, long story short, we live in a 3 br trailor, for now. We currently have the girls' sharing a room, the living rooms serves as "playroom" or at least that is where their toys are, and my computer is in the combo kitchen/dining room, and the guest room has an extra bed, extra chest of drawers, and all my husband's "man" crap. I am going to clear out the guest room, and put all his hunting crap in our bedroom, b/c it is never seen, and I really couldn't care less if it is in our bedroom or not. I don't know what would be better use for the extra room, and I want some feedback/opinions. Right now we have part of the disassembled superyard up to keep them from going from our living room to kitchen, so should I move the computer from the dining room into the spare room and make it an office; if I do that then we would be able to take the gate down and let them play in the kitchen, except when I'm cooking dinner. OR, I could keep the gate up and keep the computer where it is, and make the extra room and play area for them. That would get their toys out of our living room. It isn't like it is a life and death decision, but I am notorious for rearranging all the time, so I want this to be the last time we move things around for a while. Just wondering what you would do?

I like the idea of taking the computer out of the kitchen and making the guest bedroom into an office. You are probably in the living room/kitchen most anyway, so it would be convenient and easy to watch them play while you are cleaning up/relaxing and watching tv and you could always put the superyard up while you are cooking.

Okay as a mother of four and still being on a high from having just adopted...I am all for clearing the room out and making it a nursery...Have another baby!!!! [IMG] Okay, so maybe that was not the option you were looking for...in that case...I say make it a playroom. Here is why. When will you be able to leave the kids and go into the office and do things without being able to REALLY see what they are doing in another room? And if they come with you, its likely they will get into all your office supplies. I think it would get more use as a playroom cause you can "contain" them in there and they will have a place for all their stuff. You can go in there with them on and off all day and get some good use out of it. If it is an office, you will have to have the freetime to use it and with twins, I doubt you have a ton of that. [IMG] Anyways, just the route I would take if I had a spare room. BUT, you know better what your needs are...if you need an office, maybe you could put little desks in there for them to work at and color, etc while you get work done?

I would make it a playroom too. We turned our spare bedroom into a playroom and it's nice to have the bulk of their toys in there.

Is it large enough to do both? I desperately want an extra room where I can set up my computer and put all their toys. That way we can all play in there at the same time! I also would tear down the closet door and make it into a supply shelf. I want a place for my gift wrapping stuff, scrapbooking stuff, files, arts & crafts stuff, etc. I would cover the door with a linen bath shower. And make the room very colorful - for me and the kids - with lots of flowers!

Can you tell I've thought about this a lot lately?

LOL...it isn't very big, but if you want it, well I guess I could part ways with it.

I had to make the third bedroom into a playroom because the whole house was being taken over by toys. Where ever I looked that's all I saw was toys.

I would give anything to have an extra room as a playroom. Right now, all of our toys are in the greatroom/office.

I have a three bedroom house and I have the "extra" room se up as our SCHOOL room. In other words, give it to the kids. While they are little it's full of toys, and when they get older, make it more for projects and learning...after all, that's what toys are to babies, right? For learning? Keep the computer where you will use it...in the kitchen sounds grand to me!

Our 3rd bedroom is also a playroom. When I need to make a phone call I can gate them in there and know they cannot get into anything. I would love to have some "mommy" space too though.
