I am past falling apart. I get out of bed in the morning (not too early) and am DYING to go back to sleep. I could barely manage to walk from my bedroom to the kitchen, let alone prepare food for myself. I'm too tired to eat sometimes, even though I'm hungry. I wish I could sleep and sleep and sleep. My breathing gets heavy from feeling so overtired even though I'm not doing ANYthing. I tried to do some sorting in the playroom while I was sitting very comfortably on the floor, not moving much. Within 1/2 hour I couldn't catch my breath and had to go to bed.

Please give me ideas as to how I can get some energy. Minimal energy would be appreciated. Vitamins make me even weaker, always have. I'm at a loss and can't function like this.

Call your OB and get in to have your iron and blood sugar checked. In the meantime, try to get in 100 grams of protein a day (protein bars and shakes help bring that up with minimal effort) and get in as much water as humanly possible.

I had that problem in the beginning and these things seemed to help. I was a little anemic when they did my GD test but they just said to take iron and haven't rechecked since.

    Ditto this.

    Call your Dr.

I had the same concern and it was low iron. I was so lethargic and sleepy.

Also have them check your lungs. If you have any edema- they will hear it, even if you dont feel it. If you have any history of asthma, it may be flaring as well.

    Both were checked recently.

I'll mention the lungs being checked to my doctor.

Did they get you on a diet for a twin pregnancy? The higher calorie count is ESSENTIAL for keeping up your energy. If you aren't eating you aren't going to have energy, plain and simple. If your DH needs to make you something to eat in the morning to get you going then you need to ask him to. Maybe put a mini-fridge with easy snacks in your room, or get yourself some Boost shakes so you can get your day started with calories and protein.

I have this problem as well although it is not as severe as yours. But it seems to be relative to how often im eating and drinking. I am also working as well which actually helps the energy level. As the other lovely ladies have said to talk with your ob. You and i also seem to be identical in how far along we are =) good luck let us know how things go.

Yes, they did get me on a diet, but it's very difficult to find ANY food that I can tolerate. Most food makes me very nauseous. I have to really think of foods that I can eat and stick to those. I do try to eat high protein foods, so that's good, but you're right. I am most likely not eating enough. Where's the ravenous appetite people talk about?

I have shakes and maybe I'll start eating them again. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah! It seems we have the same due date.

I'm going to try to up the calorie/protein intake and hopefully that'll help. I'll also discuss it with my OB.

I must thank you all for helping this pregnant brain realize what's been happening. I forced myself to eat decent food today (which I do every day, but not enough) and I feel way better. I can't say I have loads of energy, but I feel so much better than I did yesterday.

SO thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

You're welcome! Now if only I could have thought of that when I was doing the same thing instead of giving you advice from experience. LOL

By the way, I order you to call a cleaning lady to clean your house for Passover. It just popped in my head as I'm about to call the one who comes once a month to my house to explain the extra stuff we need done this time.

 You are so sweet! I have a cleaning lady and the rest is up to my husband. I just 'man' the jobs.

The truth is that I am SO happy Passover's coming because we're doing a major spring cleaning to get ready for the babies now. :babyflips: :babyflips:

We don't do the full house clean like we should for Passover... we also just close up our pantries and don't get rid of all of our stuff. This year will be interesting, we likely will have babies that are days old and we're going to have to figure out seders.

I'm not looking forward to trying to eat enough to nurse twin newborns during Passover, but eating enough is really going to be important. Just have to figure out how to check quinoa, it's ok if you check it. I just found that out. :)

Yeah, quinoa's ok if you check it.
