...the teapot and the keyboard. My girls got these two items for Christmas and they are SO annoying. They love playing with them though. Not only are they annoying, they are LOOOOOUUUUUDDDD!!! The teapot goes off constantly whenever they touch it with this really high-pitched medley of "I'm a Little Teapot." The keyboard has a volume button, but they know where it is and how to turn it up. UGH! Then, like 2 of the demo songs are Christmas songs...Ahhhh!!!

Just had to vent, I'm about to mistakenly place these toys [IMG]

The girls got a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine toy that plays the opening theme song when you push a button...they push it all the time! That toy now lives at Grandma's house. [IMG]

I have already hidden a Barney banjo with NO off switch in my closet, and thrown out a plastic puzzle. All they did with that was throw the pieces on the hardwood floor and listen to the noise.

Why, why, why do they make toys with no off switch. We got this really stupid driving toy that has no volume control and if you breathe on it the sounds go off. I think I looked at it funny this morning and it started playing music. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

It's now hidden in the closet. :)

Ahhhh, I love the teapot! I sing the song for them when they push the button. Well, one day they pushed the button so much I had a sore throat and a hoarse voice! LOL!

I don't know why but the toy noises just don't really bother me very often.

I know the feeling. The girls got this Pluto dog that you pull behind you. It plays a very loud song then barks, barks, barks. It was opened over at my parents house on Christmas Eve, but never made it into our house. Dh put it in the bag of toys we had for goodwill!!!
It really stinks when all of the toys are playing music/making noise at the same time.

I tried to guess from your title what you would be hating- and my first thought was antibiotic poopy diapers [IMG]

I have to say- there really isn't an annoying toy that the girls got for Christmas [IMG] because I made wish lists and didn't include any of those and my relatives pretty much bought off of those- that way there weren't duplicates, etc. [IMG] Best wishes for a quiet time sometime soon [IMG]

I remember those days!!! Last year they got a toy drum, electric guitars, a keyboard and this train that had a decible level that made me want to chuck it out the window. This year the girls' gifts were everything I love. Almost everyone got them clothes...YAY. They got lots of nice quiet puzzles and games, books and a ton of craft stuff. The only thing that we got that makes noise was this Scooby Doo Christmas stuffed animal that sings Christmas songs but somehow he got packed away with all the Christmas stuff...oops.

I used to hate all the noisy toys too, till I learned what a little duct tape over the speakers can do!!! I put it on just about anything that is too noisy. Kids don't care either. Plus some of that they say is made way too loud for kids eardrums. We have the teapot too, but the battery died last year and I have just been soo lazy about putting the new one we ordered in!!

The worst toy my kids have is the Laugh'N Learn Puppy. The buttons are all off kilter on the foot, so you have to push all three till you find one that turns the darn thing off - that is until a vibration turns it back on and it says "Let's Sing & Play Games!!" really loud! It usually happens when the kid are in bed and I'm tidying up...my responce is "Let's NOT!!"
It's a good thing it DOES have a on/off switch on the back, but my ds loves to play the music on it, so he gets irritated when it won't play!
I hate walking in the room and hearing a toy in the toy box saying "You're my friend" "Pat-a-cake, Pat-a ...yay!...I love...so big!!" (as vibrations make it play different things without finishing the last one!)
    It's annoying...

yep I use duct tape on all toys with speakers or take the batteries out. We don't have that many just the ones my family and dh's buy for the kids and somehow most of them do end up at good will I buy the boys wooden toys, and do put in requests with the familys that they do the same.

I HATE the Doug and Melissa puzzles that make noises when you put the correct piece in the correct slot- It is light activated so if you lose a piece and you turn off a light the puzzle makes siren noises or barks like a dog or moos like a cow....ARRRRGHHHH!!! It used to happen in the middle of the night and wake the girls. It was maddening.

We "accidentally" misplaced these puzzles and got new "silent" ones. [IMG]

i hate any eletronic toy that the kids both try to push the buttons on constantly... like purplenurple... when it doesn't finish it's sentence before the next one starts... i just want to throw it out the window... sometimes I just get the bop-it game out just to listen to it scream AAAHHH! makes me feel better.

I've been doing alot of reading but no posting the last few weeks, but I had to respond to this one! I too am an avid toy noise hater. sounds bitter, but it's true. but my SIL turned me on to a clever trick - put duck tape over the speaker. my guys dont seem to mind and they're not strong enough to rip them off. I quess I dont recommend it if thery're the type to put everything in their mouth, in case they do pull it off. karen

I'm so glad someone else can't stand the L&L Puppy! My kids love it, but oh it's so irritating! Bea likes to drag it around by the ear, so it's going "arf arf!" and that wimper the whole time. I turn it off too until the get mad that it's not making noise, they do like the songs.

Bea got a Sleepytime Uniqua for Christmas. I didn't realize how loud it was, so I put it in her crib. The next morning we woke up to "HUSH HUSH LITTLE SHERMAN!" over and over again. We turned it off.

Kelly- that is so funny about the puppy. We have a tote of travel toys that stay in the car if we ever need them when we go places and that stupid dog was on -and the whole way home one day from my parents (one hour away!) it sang! Everytime I hit a bump it would either be that road runner like noise or what have you! Ugh!! The thing is shut off now and I don't care if I ever flip that black switch in the back or not.

These responses are so funny. My husband gets annoyed with noisy toys and duct tapes over the speakers, I though he was crazy until I read that other people do this too. My stepmom worked for Hit entertainment, so we received a Barney saxaphone and guitar and a musical barney mat that plays farm songs. Oh what fun!!!! [IMG]

All I can say is TAKE OUT THE BATTERIES!

We got an annoying bear that does a little counting song in a particularly irritating voice, and off course, no off switch. It stopped working pretty quickly, thought the battery was dead. It accidentally went through the wash a few days ago and . . . now it's working again! What's with that? That battery is getting pulled out shortly.

What I wonder, apart from why they make them so loud, is why the sound quality is usually so bad . . . ?

    -Rachel

p.s. I love seeing how this touched a nerve and got so many responses!

Emma and Eliana got these cheerleader dolls that sing like 5 different cheers. ("We're #1 we can't be #2, cuz we're going to beat the whooptie out of you. The whooptie out of you") LOL

They're cute, but soooooooo annoying because the dang cheers get stuck in your head for the entire day. I actually heard Dawson singing one the other day when he was playing a game on the computer LOL.
