I literally had to hold Montana :cray: down while she got 5 shots today for Pre-K. She screamed and yelled -- looked at me like I betrayed her .... :cray: We both were crying and I wanted to knock that nurse out because she was smiling the whole darn time. WTH? I am being emotional ... I know it was her job. I am also thankful for immunizations ... but my baby girl was so hurt.

Laura, I hate them too. And the older the kids get the worse they handle them. Like you, I have to hold my oldest DD down and she just screams. Poor Montana and Mommy, they are not fun. :hug99:

When ours get that many, they usually have two people give them so it is over faster. Three in one leg and two in the other. I feel so bad for them when they have to get so many at once. I do, however, like the lady that does them here. She's fast and even says, "ouchie, ouchie, ouchie... done." While she does it. I know that may seem odd, but it's almost like she's validating the little one's feelings.

:hug99: Dh and I always comment on what a horrible job it must be to be the shot nurse at our pedi's office (they have two people whose sole job is to give shots)... all day screaming and nasty looks from cute little kiddos.

:hug99: Aren't they just the worst? I think I dread them as much as the kids!

They are the worst. :cray: I also had to hold Kevin down with three (Yes, THREE) nurses last week for an x-ray! I felt so bad. :( He was so upset.

5 shots is a lot Laura! Was she behind on her schedule? :hug99:

I hate shots, too. My 15-month-olds had their vaccine on Tuesday, and my daughter had a seizure today as a result. This happened after her 12-month vaccines, too. It's awful! So very scary. That's why I'm up at 4:00 am. I've not been able to sleep tonight. They took her in an ambulance this time. This seizure seemed to be different than the first one. After several hours in the ER, they released her. We're taking her to see the ped. at 8:00 am. Hopefully she'll remain all right until then.

I have to take my son for his 4-year shots this summer. These will be the first ones he's ever gotten where he'll know what's coming. I dread it so much. . . especially after all the drama with our daughter.

Aww, I hate that! We are in a shot reprieve between kids right now and it's great! Because of when my oldest dd's bday is, she had to get her five year shots early. We chose to split the shots into two visits to make it a bit easier. I bribed her with Dr Pepper! Yes she cried but it worked out okay. I hope Montana is feeling better today!

Hi! No - they were up to date on their shots, because I asked about that. When we transferred here, the twins records were reviewed and the doctor said that we did not need to come back in until it was time to start school. I has asked about shots and was told they did not require any until now. I was so upset, because I am used to the 2 man team coming in and getting it over with. :( There little legs were sore and all but they are over it. I felt so bad.
