I *HATE* my bathtub!

I have 'The First Years' Infant to Toddler Bathtub & I actually hate it at this point.....
My girls can't quite yet sit up so we still use it.
When they are in the Toddler side they like to slide their little buns down so that they almost go underwater no matter how I hold them.
When they are on the infant side they slide to the side, kick up their feet on the side of the tub & then want to slide down.
Either way they are having a fantastic time splashing me, getting me soaking wet & slithering all around the tub - while I want to poke my eyes out every single bath night.
Does anyone have any great options or recommendations?? Maybe some kind of bath seat that works really well that keeps them in place??
    I am O.V.E.R. that tub.......
I think I would gladly take an aching back hunched over the real tub than dealing with that infant/toddler bathtub!!! :nea:

Hmm, I have that tub and love it!

However, I also found that if I set their infant carriers next to the bath tub, I could take them one at a time into the tub with me. Then set them in the carrier, get out, dry them off, put them in the bouncy/swing/exersaucer/etc, and bathe the other one. It was easy that way, and I got a bath too!

Before my girls could sit, I got these bath seats and they worked great. We had the same problem with the infant tub. Another cool thing is not only can you bath them at the same time, but they get such a kick out of it!!

Those are good suggestions! DH and I are looking into bath seats! We both have bad backs so leaning over the tub is not appealing but our twosome is just about ready to grow out of their tub. Right now we are still using the Fisher Price Aquarium bath tub, we bought one of those foam teddy bear bath inserts which helps them to relax in the tub.

We just use a non-skid mat and a teddy bear sponge, and bathe the boys in the big bathtub - we've done that for the past couple of months. The baby bathtubs were just a pain in the rear!

    we have these http://www.rightstart.com/global/store/pro...+and+seats.html
If you think about getting these make sure the surface of your tub is smooth...they will stick MUCH better!

I actually have one of each of the above seats. My boys still use them!

We have bathed them in the big tub since they were 3 months. No mat or anything. Just about 2 inches of water and they lay on their backs. They love it!!! Now of course, they roll to their tummies and squirm and wiggle all over getting the toys. Bathtime is definately not relaxing for them, they have a blast!!!

Get that big yellow teddy bear sponge from BRU. Stick it in there and not only do they have a nice cushion to sit on, they won't slip! Those things were a MUST HAVE!!!!

At 7 months we sat them in the big tub in 6 inches of water...hassle at first, but SO liberating!

I hated those infant tubs too, I ended up getting this and I used it in the sink for a while, then in the big tub, and even when the girls could sit in the bath rings I would put on in the ring and one on this because it made washing hair so easy! I still have it and use it occasionally.

Before I read this I had posted in the BC about how I hate bathtime b/c of the boys tub...we have the same one. Saw someone say something about just laying them in the tub...so we tried it. Figured hubby was home best to try it for the first time then....went great.

Pic of Lucas and Dillon first time in real tub!

    Little vid of bath.

My exact thought!! I was gonna buy bath seats but they are so darn expensive (especially times two) so I just got a no slip mat and put it in the tub. Bath time has gotten so much more fun for them now that they are in the big bathtub together! I got one of those tub storage benches for me to sit on as it kills my knees to kneel on the tile floor.

I put a few inches of water in the tub and put them in their Bumbo seats. Have done that for the last 2 baths and love it!

We have the same tub; and now I put it in the big tub to bathe them. It doesn't solve the sliding around problem; but it makes it so that they can splash all they want and it doesn't matter. I still get wet; but not as wet as I did when we were bathing on the counter top.

I have bath seats too; but they aren't ready. We tried them out once, and it was disastrous. I'm going to check out some of the suggestions on here. I think they would really love to be together in the bath. They are starting to be very interested in each other; and they both love the splashing.

    Thanks for posting!
