I mean really, is there a switch that goes off when they turn 4 that they turn into horrible monsters??? I have lost all patience with him this week. He has suddenly developed the biggest attitude and is driving me insane!!!! If this is normal, I'm gonna have to get some good drugs when the twins hit this age!

    Okay, done venting.

Yes-4 is pretty much the worst! At 4 1/2 the lying started. Luckily it was only a short phase. But I agree that at 4 the sweet little one you used to have takes a long vacation.

Three is the worst and four is pretty terrible too- it's a tough age! Way tougher than 2!!!

Our girls were a little behind because 5 was when the attitudes made their appearance here. I'm sorry you're dealing with this phase!

I'm sorry, but I chuckled when I read your post. Only because I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I totally feel your pain. I've heard that 5 is better. I'll let you know in December if it magically changes...

    Good luck and

My son is 4 1/2 and just recently started with the attitude and acting like he doesnt have to listen all the sudden. Then, this week he has started screetching like a girl for no reason and it has been very annoying. Also been having trouble at bed time. Please dont tell me this is going to continue!

I feel your pain - can you tell I have a 4 year old also????? My peditrician told me that 4 year olds are bi-polar - angel one minute/devil the next. So true!!!! I am so sick of the talking back myself.

I feel your pain!! Yes it is a yucky age! Mine are only a few months shy... but still I understand completely!! Some days I find myself praising lord that they started preschool.

I honestly believe it's to make it easier for us to let them go to kindergarden.

Oh, man! My DD just turned 4 as well and I was seriously just thinking the same thing. I made her go to her room and stay there 1.5 hours earlier than her normal bedtime because I couldn't take the nasty attitude anymore. It was like Jekyl and Hyde. One minute she was sweet, kind, and funny with me and the boys, the next minute she was sassing me and being nasty to them. UGH!
