OK, so we started 1-2-3 Magic this week. The basic premise for anyone who doesn't know is when they are doing something wrong, you say "That's 1" at the first offense, then That's 2, and That's 3 is time out. So, I had just had to do it maybe 10 minutes ago with Bea for throwing things, got to 2 with her. Then I was trying to wipe her nose and get this nasty booger that has been hanging half out of her nose all day. She hates having her nose wiped. She was going "No No!" and shaking her head as I tried to get it. Then I tried again and she looked right at me and went "ONE!" and held up a finger. It was so hard not to laugh! Guess I deserved it! I had been warned multiple times.

ETA: The 1-2-3 Magic is going pretty well. Bea seems to have caught on, Ainsley hasn't really done that much to need it. It could also be the novelty factor right now, they aren't used to hearing 1,2,3 so they stop.

How funny! Mine will count with me, and I try not to laugh. They will tell me "mommy time out," but I haven't been counted yet.

That's too funny! Well, at least she understands the concept!

ETA: We don't even use 1-2-3 Magic, but occasionally I've gotten them to stop doing something by saying "One...." very sternly. I think it just intrigues them. I also wonder if maybe their daycare teachers use it or something similar -- or maybe my tone of voice just gives the message all by itself.

 Dh and I get counted all the stinking time!

when the boys are playing together, dh and I crack up when we hear them say sternly to each other "Four, six, seven, eight, nine!"

Yeah Sofia counts Ryan. Last week I was putting away their clothes and had a hanger in my mouth while I was trying to put a shirt on it and she says "mama, that's no no. you need time out". I about died! I had to laugh, it was so darn cute.

Yes we love it here. Austin was outside and a dog next door was being real loud and austin said "Mommy that doggie is loud he needs time out"
Madison will count for austin too!

we used to use the magic 123 with my nephew and you would start with "one" and he would go "TWO THREE" its was hard to be mad at him when he did that.
he was under two years old at the time.

Bwah, the EXACT same thing happened to me this weekend! I was hanging up their clothes in the closet and put a hanger in my mounth while I was buttoning the shirt hanging on it and Natalie yelled, "Not in the mouth, Mommy!" Luckily I didn't get a time out for it, though! You must have been REALLY bad!

And yes, every stinkin' time one of them is misbehaving, the other one tells me they need a timeout. I tell Natalie to sit down on the couch and Rita calls out, "Natalie time out! TWO minutes!" LOL!!!
