I finally got them potty trained, and Brooke is back into diapers again!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted, and so many things have changed. Just when it had started to get a little easier by getting them potty trained, Brooke fell down 1 stair, and broke her Femur. I decided to take my girls to watch their older brother wrestle at his highschool. My husband was trying to keep Erin under control (she was throwing a fit,) and Brooke started to follow our youngest son down the stadium stars, and fell. We didn't see her fall, but after picking her up, and not being able to console her, my husband knew she had broke her leg. On the way to the hospital, we received a phone call that our oldest son who was wrestling received a head injury. So my husband dropped the girls and I off at the ER, while he went back for our son. We spent the whole evening, all 6 of us in the ER. We are 1 week into the body cast, and everyday is getting a little better, however, I just feel so bad that this happened to our sweetest child. At least she didn't have to have surgery to correct the break, and we only have 5 more weeks until the cast comes off.

 

Oh, my. That sounds like quite an ordeal! I'm sorry you had that all happen in one night.

I hope the time goes quickly and the break heals cleanly. How is she handling the whole cast situation?

 

Oh dear, you poor thing! I'm glad to hear things are getting easier after a week. I can't imagine dealing with a toddler in a full body cast....

Just curious -- how do you change the diaper?

And how's your son? I assume since you didn't say, it was a minor injury?????

 

Oh my gosh! Poor Brooke! Hope it heals quickly, I can't even imagine. I'm sure you can work on PT'ing again once she's better. Hope you are doing OK with it too, that must be really rough.

They leave an opening for the diaper to be tucked inside, so you just wipe and clean like normal. You just have to be extra careful not to get it on the cast, since you can't get the cast wet.

Oh, poor baby! My niece, Erin, was in a body cast when she was about 3 years old. (She's now a gorgeous 17 year old) She broke her leg and the way it was broken required a body cast. She was out of it pretty quickly, it's amazing how fast they heal. :hug99:
