So two weeks ago, I went to the specialist for my son's drake's kidneys, because my regular OBGYN thought they were dilated. Well they weren't, the specialist said all looks well. But around Kera our daughter, there was a lot of fluid... so the specialist said limit my carb and sugar intake. So yesterday I went to the regular OBGYN and had to do a one hour glucose test, I promised myself I wouldn't have any sweets until I know what the results are Monday. Well I just had a piece of cake with lots of frosting. Why do I do this to myself and my children? I hope I am not hurting them!!! :( I know this is a stupid post... but I really just need to get it off my chest. I feel awful for eating something sweet, because I don't want to hurt Kera. The specialist said that gestational diabetes if you don't keep up with a good diet can cause pre-term labor... and I don't want to have these babies too early because I failed to maintain a good diet. :(

He said to limit it not to avoid it totally. Try not to deprive yourself until you know for sure or else you will end up rebelling and splurging. There are lots of low sugar options that will satisfy your sweet tooth without making you feel bad. Please don't worry yourself so much, that is worse than a piece of cake. You are doing fine, if you are really having such anxiety you should probably talk to someone who might be able to relieve your worries. Hang in there, you really are doing great, only 3.5 months to go, that is phenomenal.

Thats what I was going to say. Its really ahrd not to give into the cravings. I always laugh about to my husband as when Chris Farlely on Saturday Nighth Live is dressed as a women and they are all talking about dieting. Somehow french fries are placed in front of them and Chris goes in to eat them. When the other characters start to say something he yells at them" BACK OFF IM STARVING. I crack up every time and when I have a craving thats how I feel. If you dont give in it only gets worse and then you wont have any control when you get hold of it and will go crazy overeating!!

You are definitely being too hard on yourself. As moms we sacrifice so much. Not just during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but FOREVER! I'm sure a little cake is okay. :D
